And a happy birthday to Coco and young Spence.

And bummocks to DL. It's a very unfair process.

I managed a mile this morning to check what damage was done on Sunday. I've a wee tweak in a hammy, my quads are stiff and one toe is well bruised.

I'm still pumped from Sunday. The results are out - 25% dnf'd and the winner's time of 3:30 underlines what a tough event it was. It should help point me in the right direction for Windermere (some of Sunday's course shared the Windy course).

I did my long run. It was a bit tougher and longer than I needed but it didn't kill me so it must have made me stronger.

An off road marathon seemed like it would fit the bill - run 20 miles and jog/walk the last 6 would fit the bill. That didn't quite happen - - the first 13.5 went OKish the next 13.25 was brutal - mostly un-runnable track with slippy slidey bog and knee deep puddles. I was hoping to get to 20 miles in 4 hours but that proved impossible.

I limped home in a tired but happy 6 hours.

FarFar's rattly box is the secret, Pipps.

That's another week done. I wouldn't have run this morning but Jantastic forced me out but it was a struggle. So I'm on a strict weight loss regime - it seems that 2 extra days a week of sitting at a desk is not good for the waistline. I just need a little adjustment.

F-R Try walking before you need to walk. Plan a one minute walk break after 2 minutes running. Take your time an work at it slowly. You will get there eventually so don't rush and enjoy the journey.

Busty week ahead. Mr Predecessor leaves this week so it is my last chance to pick his brains. And Mrs XB and the wee ones are away down sarf so I've got to fend for myself and the hound.

Nice new boots. Pipples

I said 12 too, Spence and I really didn't want to do it. But I did one of my mind tricks. I said it would be 4 with the dog then 8 on my own. But I kept taking detours and did 8 with the dog which meant I only needed 4 easy miles to get the total. It would have been just as easy to stay in bed though.

It was a much better morning for it.

And now I'm taking my young ladies out for a slap up Morrison's Breakfast. Mrs Veggie Wife has one to learn to be a Samaritan.
