Panicking about first 10k race

Posted: Yesterday at 20:40

"I have given up on achieving my original time target, but still want to give the race my best"........that's exactly what you should do.

Just enjoy the race and train properly for the next one. There's hundreds more out there after this one.

3 weeks is just enough for time on feet and a 'get round' strategy but not much else

Long runs

22 is not advisable in most plans purely for the rest of the weeks training. Recovery for that sort of mileage would take too long.

Agree with Pete Holt, other factors must be the reason for fading. LSR too fast is always the no.1 problem

Well done marrows. excellent report and sorry i couldnt see anyone (like id know anyone anyway )

Saw mankini aswell..... lots of toilets. Water bottle etc. very good day for spectating

Off to hospital for me tonight as i was down the track last night 4 x 1600m

6:01, 5:58, 5:57, 5:58 last 100m foot just exploded with pain as i crossed the line. Not very happy as you may understand (ibuprofen is not touching it at all!!)

Loads of people think they can diagnose it off the top of their heads but im going for professional (?) opinion.
