Thank you very much Runbikecat, DS and Malcs for the advice...so some more questions (sorry).
Malcs your runs on your plan at 8.30, is that your 'easy' pace?
DS, I've been looking on a few training pace calculators. I come unstuck because my 10k pace and my half pace are similar, (in fact my 5k isn't much faster) Getting my legs to work faster just doesn't happen!!! Should I be taking longer strides or turning the legs over quicker? Based on my half marathon time I should have much quicker 5 and 10k but I have now given myself a few paces to try and work with! I will post back my progress!
Do you think early July will be too soon to test run a 10k?
May treat myself to a nice long run this weekend though, back-pack and a picnic, maybe a joes icecream down mumbles! 'Just in case' like Sean says!
