Running with an ileostomy

Trudie, I can't offer any advice about the adhesive baseplate but I wonder if you might get any help on the Health & Injury forum. Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply seren nos & a Huge Well Done from me. I'm sure there are many superb stories to be told in both of the races. I would love to be able to complete the 50 & I can't imagine what preparation is needed for the 100.

Harry Johnson & others are truly positive signs of what can be done. I do wonder what their running history is like.

Well Done to all finishers from me! Can I ask for clarification of the results, if anyone knows, in the 50 mile race was the next to last finisher really 80 years old?

Swollen & tight knees

Yeh thanks booktrunk. She did walk today & has iced them a couple of times. Crouching presents as a problem for her. Feeling a bit better today but looking for advice if anyone has had similar experience.

Swollen & tight knees

A couple of days after a walking break in the Peak District my wife's knees were very stiff, tight & hard to bend. No pain there but plenty of fluid as swollen on either side of each knee cap.

She did a sprint triathlon a week earlier & tends to run or cycle regularly.

Any ideas what to do? She hasn't run or cycled this week.

Good Luck to you cragchick.  It's beyond contemplation for me but I certainly wish you well.

Hi Dawnie. It's a while since I've run along the Cromford Canal but I do recall 1 tunnel which was long enough to prevent my Garmin watch from getting a signal. Even so, you can see daylight at the other end so it depends how much the dark is a concern for you. as I remember, you come off the canal & down to the road with a short distance to the Hurt Arms.

I must say I really enjoyed those runs along the canal & I hope you can enjoy them too.

Evening Booktrunk. It's good to see you back on board.

All the Best to you from me.

Booktrunk I've been lurking for a long time & was full of admiration for you when you decided to take this on. I felt very disheartened for you when I read the message about C017. I can't imagine what it must have been like in today's conditions. No doubt Ladybower will be like a walk around the park in comparison

Sending you Big hugs & Warmest Good Wishes.
