I went to see a chiropractor about my back last night (the one in Marple recommended by DB). I think their setup is a bit suspect.
The nice chiropractor man asked me some questions, looked at my back, wiggled my legs and prodded me. He then asked me to to pay £30, make another appointment and he would tell me what was wrong with me at the next appointment (for another £30).
Now if you call a plumber out, you would be a bit hacked off if they came to look at your boiler and then asked for another payment before they would tell you what was wrong with it?
Upon querying this approach he did give me his diagnosis before I left but I did leave thinking it was a funny way of running a business.
Has anyone got more experience of chiropractors? Are they effective, how many sessions do you normally need? I have similar cynicism regarding physios because every time I have been to see one they tell me exactly the same thing (ibuprofen gel and rest).
