Training plan for Kinder Trog
Week 8 - run marathon
Week 8 to 3 - run 4 times, no more than 5 miles in one go.
Week 3 - Complete 98 mile bike ride
Week 2 - Attend week long training camp in Italian Dolomites. Mammoth cycle rides only.
Pre race day - Run Woodbank Park Run. Spend 6 hours plasterboarding extension. Get pestered to take kids on 20mile bike ride in evening.
Race day - Suffer one epic bonk after 10 miles!
Was going OK up to Edale Cross but then hit the wall big style. Had 2 gels (thanks BT) but they made no difference. Started getting very cold, seriously doubted whether I could get back to Hayfield without assistance. Bump into GBM who gives me funny fruity energy bar. This has some effect. Slowly walk/run to finish!
Why is this race such a nightmare!
