Happy Easter everybody!

Hope you have all had a nice day with lots of chocolate.  We had an Easter egg hunt in the garden this morning with the mini eggs my mum had sent from England followed by Birthday Cake as it was small son's seventh birthday yesterday. We couldn't celebrate yesterday as daughter was in Istanbul for 3 days competing and hubby had gone to watch her too.  She came back late yesterday evening and has gone again for two days to Konya representing Turkey  in an International 'Rumi' Games for Children (It is Children's day on Wednesday.) About 6 countries are involved, including the Czech Republic, Iran, Uzbekistan, Cyprus.....and she is staying in a lovely 5 star hotel. So busy busy for her and a great opportunity (although she wll have missed 4 days of school.

Anyway, I'm just ticking over with treadmill running and swimming.  Not much to report. We're not coming to England this year so no more races until Istanbul again in November. Tempted to try the marathon instead of the 15K but we'll have hot weather in August and Ramazan in July and then back to crazy school in September so I don't now whether I can get the necessary training in.... Needs some thinking on.

BFN folks. xx

Great race report MC!

Huge Well done to you Lainey too! Must be a great feeling!

Just looked on the website for my 15K and my official time was 1:30:09 which I am really pleased with as the hills were horrible and I hadn't done enough training as usual.

Good Luck to our marathoners for Sunday. I know you'll be fantatstic whether you are super fast or sure and steady! One day hopefully I'll join you!  Am I the only remaining non-marathoner? And Nandy, well done on the huge amount you have raised!

MC - very well done to your little boy! That's brilliant! I didn't know he was a swimmer too.

AF- glad to hear you are feeling good after your great performance.

Well, boys and hubby are all ill with a nasty throat infection and high temperatures. Daughter is trying to stay away from them as she has a swimming competition in Kütahya on Sunday and desperately wants to stay well.  I also have a little 15Km race on Sunday in my home city.  Didn't do it last year as ?? was sooo undertrained and I've not done that much more this year but I'll just try to get round in one piece. (It is very hilly!)

Daughter is feeling very pleased as she recieved her first training allowance from the Turkish Olympic Preparation Centre and a huge holdall of sports clothes last night, including a winter coat, an anorak, trainers, sneakers, flip flops, a bathrobe, a tracksuit, t-shirts, shorts a sweatshirt and socks etc They are also giving her as many packets of pasta as she can eat!

Anyway, parents meetings are over but I still have tests to mark, so bye for now!!x

Hi all!

How MC, Franny and all!

I'm at the swimming pool watching daughter swim up and down.  There were no lessons today because of the election yesterday (schools were used as polling stations) but of course at my school teachers had to go in for a seminar.  At least I was out early (4.30 instead of 6) so I could come and watch daughter swim.

Managed a short run yesterday in glorious sunshine but have an achy back now so having a rest day today.

Hope you are all OK! xx
