I eat a lot....of everything

I love food and eat things I like.

If I don't enjoy it I don't eat it.

If I'm hungry I eat whatever I fancy. If I'm not hungry I don't think about food.

Never binge, but don't deprive myselfeither.

Like to cook from scratch, and love healthy whole foods....but also have a penchant for red wine, coffee, and have a very sweet tooth, and love chocolate, honey, syrup, ice cream, home made cake/biscuits/ ice cream etc etc

 

High blood pressure, should I still run London?

I remember recording a blood pressure of 160/100 a few years ago at some point between my second and third marathons.....I was aged 34

I was reasonably stressed at the time, and my blood pressure was high every time it was checked.

My BP these days is consistently around 120/75 these days, so I don't know what that was all about

Jessica....you've probably done most of your training, if not your previous marathons with that sort of blood pressure without even realising it.

I personally would just get on with it.

The blood pressure issues can be dealt with in due course

Josh....go and see a physio

They will likely loosen off tight lateral structures/ ITB

This will definitelY help.

Thye may also give you exercises to strengthen medial quads/ glutes

That's not entirely true ric...I had them after ramping up mymileage to 60+ per week in 2006....

They did take a while to put right, maybe 6 months, but they did get better and I've never had them back...

(never got anywhere near the original provoking mileage mind you, due to other injuries)

Lisa - there is no reason why you should need to give up your running, particularly if it gives you such pleasure....

However, no periods does seem to suggest that something about energy intake/ body mass/ exercise is not quite right.

Your body is finding a way of preventing you from becoming pregnant as it doesnt believe it can adequate nourish it...

Do you eat well to fuel your running? Would your friends and family think you eat well, or do they think you should eat more?

Easing off the mileage for a bit, and fuelling better, and maybe only gaining a few pounds should see your periods return.

Keep it elevated too.

 

Definitely rest!

I had a really bad horsefly bite inAugust - my whole arm swelled up massively!

It wasn't infected. Fexofenadine helped a lot and it settled in about 5 days...
