Thanks small! I did the Magnificent Seven in Saltash a few years ago when staying with my mum in Callington - will definitely enter that one again. A great run!

I'm coming over from Singapore with my family for the annual 'duty visit' to the UK and would dearly love to liven things up a bit with a race or two....we will be staying in east Cornwall during July and hopefully near to the New Forest for the first 3 weeks of August. Does anyone know of any races in those areas at those times?  Any distance up to half-marathon is fine.....

Thanks!

Too late for a half marathon in December?

Well I've done it - signed up for a 10k at the end of Oct and the half marathon on 2 Dec. It starts at 6.15am!!! Best time of day to be running here though :-)

Hi Tiger!

Great to hear from you, I wondered if any of you guys were still around and posting regularly! Are those socials still going on? I'll have to head over to the general chat forums at some point and catch up - never seem to have much time these days though what with chasing round after the kids :-)

Thanks Richard! Needed that reassurance that I'm not being completely unrealistic!

Thanks! I don't want to give myself an unrealistic goal and then be gutted when I can't do it....needed that reassurance that it's not totally unrealistic.

Thanks again! Kerry

Will I be ready for the GSR??

Go for it Gargar, I don't think you'll have a problem! I'm asking myself the same questions about a half-marathon in December (in fact I just posted one just now!) and I'm still at the jog/walk stage, after 3+ years' break from running, 2 small kids of 9 months and 27 months and a slipped disc in my back...I reckon I'm mad to want to do a half this soon but I would love to do it and if I can then it would be SO good for my morale!

Good luck and enjoy it!

Too late for a half marathon in December?

I've just started running again after a break of more than 3 years (emigrated to India, had 2 kids and a slipped disc in my back!) I used to run a lot and did the London Marathon in 2003.

I'm now getting much fitter, my back is OK and I'm doing regular walking, swimming and Pilates on top of the running. I'm currently a few weeks into a jog/walk schedule that I downloaded off this site.

I'd like to enter the Singapore Half Marathon in early December 2007 and had set myself that as a goal, but having just received the email inviting me to sign up I'm worried that it's too late and I haven't left myself enough time to train for that distance. Should I enter the 10k instead? Will I be able to get fit and do a half without injuring myself? I would love to do it, the half was always my favourite distance!

Any advice welcome!

Thanks......Kerry
