I'm the same - got rejected too. I sulked for about a week and a half.

How's the running going?

Running partner in Ware?

Hey everyone,

I've just moved to Ware in Herts, and just wondering if there's anyone in the area who's looking for a running partner (well, more of a plodding partner - I'm not the fastest runner!). I'm struggling to keep motivated now it's getting darker and when I suggest running to my friends, they tend to look at me like I'm mad

If anyone is interested, give me a shout.

susie - I'm with you on the running in the dark thing. It's hard to fit it in! If you can do 5 miles now, you'll be fine for your 10k. The race atmosphere always helps.

Well done Debbie and Chris on your times. I am insanely jealous but very very pleased for you both

Hey, I've just got my internet back and was expecting lots of news from you all! Where is everyone?

I haven't run for ages - felt too stressed out from moving and work stuff - seemed far easier to go out with my friends and have a moan over a couple of glasses of wine. Finally got my internet sorted and am all newly motivated to get out running again. Bit worried as I know I'll be rubbish and have the Great South Run on 26th October!

Finally got my internet set up after moving into my new place last week! You lot have been doing some very good running by the sounds of it. This is a really great thread for motivation - I haven't ran in 2 weeks and now I'm looking forward to getting back to it - though I'm dreading the first run because I know I'll probably be useless!

Congrats Kate! Fantastic news - so pleased for you.

Welcome back Ady!

MRF - I'm not too worried about the redunancies - I'll be ok, even if I get another job someplace else. No point worrying - whatever happens happens!

Very quick post from me - I moved into my new flat yesterday and don't get my broadband set up til next week. Just logged in from my parents house to check in wity you all!

Debbie - I'm joining a running club this winter. Safer, and good for motivation on the cold nights too

Congrats Karl - that running bug is a very easy thing to catch! Isn't it the best feeling when you manage the sprint finish at the end? I'm addicted to it.

GS Monkey - If you can do it in an hour, I'd say it's fairly certain that there'd be quite a few people behind you. Get yourself entered into a race - they're great fun, and you'll probably be under the hour anyway. The atmosphere at races tends to make me run faster.

I did a very small run today - just 2.2 miles - I've raced the last 2 sundays and I'm missing it this weekend!

Can orthotics make you faster?

Yes, totally mad question but humour me for a second...
