My son is 12 years old and has dyslexia (server) and mild autism consisting of adhd and aspergus. I can cope with my son 98% of the time but school dont seem to be able to. He is about key stage 1 in his level as he cant seem to retain information. School say he fidgets, lack of concentration, etc. The school and peadatrion is pressurising me into giving my son the above drug but im sceptical.

What mum wants give their child a drug that can become addictive but i also dont want to be acused of holding my son back in his education due to his lak of concentration. It also the side effects as well.

If i lived in a dream world my son would be in a special need school but my local la say no. As autism unless really bad is not classed as a disability and dyslexia is deffinetly not. All he does at school is englsh maths and science plus one hour of fun subject everyday, cause he that far behind.

My son dont want to take it as he scared it will change him and loose the friends he got which arent that many. He also scared of getting aiddicted to it and the side effects. Iv been given a week to make my mind up, which isnt long at all for such a big discission.

So any parents out their who been down my path or got knowledge to help in swaying my decision please comment as talking to all sorts of people about it. Going away with his autism group this weekend so going speak to others then about it.

I was told that before I did my half against club advice but took my time. I'm now wondering if it could be asthma. Off back to dr now for second opinion. Club has told me I can help with the beginers tonight if I assist on going. Hope U feeling much better. My partner said he not let me run if im still ill.

Sore Calves DURING run

Posted: 06/10/2012 at 15:13

iv had the same issues so got new shoes with a insole modeled to my foot (£47) for it at sweatshop. I have been calf stretches, we worked out my problem is caused by weak glute so lying on floor and lifting my bum up hold and release, also tennis ball under foot. all by my physio i was told. had sports massage 2 weeks before race then got massage on site to warm my calf up before race for £5 donation to their charity and had no issues doing the half last sun with my legs. Still did a rubbish time as got chest infection but hope this may help.

Last week i did the robin hood half with a bad chest. It turned out i have chest infection. I eventually went to the dr on wednesday and been on strong amoxcillin since but my chest dont seem to be getting any better. I havent ran since sunday and kilo in 3 weeks. I am starting to panic about the lack of training at mo and will i be better by then. my chest actually hurts just doing house work today so a run is out of the question. does anyone know if defer sysytem for it? We still be going london as got hotel booked and activites on the saturday as a family.
