I'm in too - very excited, ran it 2 years ago and loved it.

Cramps ruining my marathons. Advice needed!

Posted: 23/04/2013 at 15:51

I'm a salty sweater too and can be in agony after exercise. I was suffering so much with cramp even after runs during the day/night I had a sweat test which revealed I had very high levels of salt loss in my sweat.

I started taking rehydration tabs and its generally changed my life! I take a low dose one during days when I am not too active and a higher dose one on more active/sweaty days. (Ive been using H2 Prohydrate)

Ive been using them for about a month now and I havent had cramp once (this is compared to waking up on average 5 times a night and leaping out of bed in agony, constant cramping during the day in my legs and feet and several agonsing, contorting cramp episodes on longer runs!)

All my runs have been better and no cramping what so ever - its a bloody miracle!

Told to stop running because of Varicose Veins

I had laser treatment on both thighs and a phlebectomy on both legs from the knee to ankle at the end of November. I was advised to avoid any excercise for 2 weeks only but this was about right as I was quite sore and bruised. Ive been back running and dancing most days since then and its all been fine.

Good luck with your research and the procedure!

Garmin Forerunner 410. To buy or not to buy?

The main complaint appears to the bezel for selecting options etc. I had the 401 for several years and I never had a problem with mine so I would thoroughly recommend it. Its a great watch and for £144 with the heart rate monior I would say thats a very good deal for what you are getting.I have the 610 now - very similar in functionality, just pimped up a little!

Great South Run 2012

Thanks! My training so far is focused on running the British 10k in London on the 8th July. After this I will have 15 weeks to get myself running up to 10 miles - sounds so easy when written like that!!! Will decide at some point the best way to go from 10k to 10 miles.

Really looking forward to it though even if I am thinking I have lost the plot at the moment!

I've signed up too - it'll be my furthest distance to date, have only done 1 previous 10k. Hopefully the training will get me round the course!  - cant deny that I'm a little apprehensive about what I've let myself in for........

I got one from Amazon last month - an iGadgitz neoprene one - its been staying put and not sliding down my arm which has happened on previous ones I've used.
