Anyone used Pegasus Fitness?

I had real trouble with them as well when ordered a Garmin back in June - after much phoning and e-mailing I did get an e-mail back to advise that they had no stock of the item I had ordered (after taking the money of course!) The email was very apologetic etc etc.  I cancelled the order and got a refund and ordered one elsewhere - sounds like no improvement since then.  Keep at them, you should get your money back at the very least.

I ran the 10k and really enjoyed it - great atmosphere, good support (around pollokshields especially), the pipers were great and I managed a PB. Didnt like the look of St Vincent street when standing at the start but managed it ok and it did spread the field out a bit. A few unexpected hills along the way but all in all a good experience.

Hello All,

Sorry to hear you are still injured Roaree - thats a bummer -  and for you PoppyRed.  I'm ok just now - did a 10k at the weekend felt it was a bit of a struggle but knocked 4 mins off my PB - hooray!! Have another in a coulple of weeks but my husband has injured his hand and is no use for baby sitting so looks like my training will be a bit reduced as well!

Thanks goodness Im not doing the half or I'd be a bit stressed about it ................... maybe next year folks???

Any one else with youngsters at home?

Posted: 06/08/2008 at 14:53

Hi There

I also have 2 pre-schoolers and home and one at school. My youngest (2 years) is still in the bed with us every night from about 1 o'clock onwards which seriously disrupts the sleep - how can something small take up so much of a bed!!

I tend to do the same as bedshaped - go out when husband gets home a couple of times and a longer run at weekends.  Personally I think I run better later in the day so that works for me.  Do you have any friends that have kids that you could watch to  let them do something and they do the same for you while you run??

I do feel knackered in the evening but once I make the effort to go out  I usually  feel ok - arrange to meet a running partner if you can - much more likely to head out the door than think about how tired you are if somebody is waiting for you.

Try to find something that works for you so you can enjoy your kids and your running - its worth the effort. Good Luck!

You know your own body and if you feel it would be too much to add the extra miles then wait a bit longer before upping your distance. I'm sure you would get a boost on the day and be able to finish but you dont want to finsh and feel like you've been hit by a truck.  If I was at your stage I'd do it but only you can know if its the right thing for you - you've put in a fair bit of work already and its your confidence that is making you question yourself rather than your ability to run.

Good luck - whatever you decide.  Letus know how you go

Hello Again!

Was off line for a bit there and just got back on.

Sorry to hear your sad tale Roaree -  hope you're back on track soon.

I'd love to say "All the chocolate for me then" but afraid I've whimped out and decided to go for the 10k instead - just havent been had the time to get the distance up. Sure I could have done it if it wasn't for those pesky kids and their 7 weeks holidays

So the new challenge is to inprove my 10k time (do I get a wee bit for that??)

PoppyRed - I'm no expert but I reckon if you are doing 11 miles with 5 weeks to go - you'd be fine. If I was at that distance now, I'd do it.  As the man they call Cake has said - your time is not important especially on a first attempt  - I would be delighted just to finish. As you havent done it before, any time you get is a Personal Best and gives you something to beat next time.

Go on - you know you want to!!!
