ive become more and more bothered by the idea in the past 5 years, since getting married and starting a new life overseas, i worry more about my son and wife's loss than i do my own though.

Anyone done a marathon in Vibrams or similar shoes?

Posted: 15/07/2014 at 09:39

my achilles woke up when i switched to zero drop, but as a result i'm faster and run more comfortably (these may be a by product of just being a more experienced runner now too, coincidence maybe)

Grass vs road times

traction and ground response on push off will = faster road times probably.

Hybrid Shoes, for trail and road?

i wear the merrell trailglove, its great on and off road, get over 1000 miles from them too,

Karrimor 3DO Eltes....Any good?

they are not half price, thats the price, the "full price" is fabricated to make them appear like a "bargain"

that said, they look a nice light weight shoe.

ive ran the last 3 in them and the last 2500 ish miles in those or my merrell trailgloves, i have no issues at all, only time i did was i wore my VFF's on a course that got a bit too rocky and was a bit painful to stand on.

You know these great running and weight loss stories.

wasnt for me, (20st - 13st with under 10% bf now) but mostly because i got addicted to running, and then triathlon, but i suspect people who run JUST to lose weight (as the magazine this site is attached to would suggest) perhaps put some back on again.

But getting fitter will have increased their metabolism so perhaps not as fast as someone who lost it using a fad diet.

gimmick shoe, very unstable to even walk in let alone run.

Need tougher minimalist trail shoes

the inov8's wear out a lot faster though, the rubber is nowhere near as durable, i cant think of a more durable shoe than the trailglove, both mine lasted 1500+ miles, and still had life in the rubber, the uppers were what went.

ive been trying to find something different for muddier conditions myself but i havent come across anything yet that i like. i'm gonna keep a keen eye on some of the posts in here for ideas myself.

First Running Watch - needs to work near high rise buildings...

Posted: 10/04/2014 at 06:40

the issues with highrises are less about the watch and more GPS technology itself. I would suggest getting one that automatically connects to a footpod when it loses GPS signal,

I know a number of Garmins do this, just a case of finding one within your budget i guess.
