Footwear for Kielder Marathon

Posted: 25/09/2014 at 08:26

i did it in merrell trailglove's which are very minimal barefoot shoes, had no issues, but i wear those on all my trail runs and perhaps my feet are used to it? they do have a "rock plate" in the forefoot though which is very good at stopping sharp/harder stones from hurting your foot.

I know the compressport cycling socks are the same as their running socks but just slightly longer.

^^this, they are the same thing, just taller (quite a bit taller actually, they cover the ankle bone whereas the running ones are fairly short and only just poke above my running shoes)

union flag* (union jack is only when flown on a ship)

anyway, i dont know how good they would be to run in, but Primark do a Union flag pair of shorts that are loud, they are the swim type with a pant liner too so they should be ok, and only about £4 probably so not an expensive loss. try them out before running to make sure they dont chafe though.
