Thanks Fido make it sound great!

Thought I had recovered from last weekend but clearly not. 13 on Sunday started well then fell to bits onlt plus when it happened 6 miles from home but didn't ask for a lift and used 7/3 to get home. Worked so well going to do at least 1 day of quadzilla to see how long it takes

Keep going is all I need the night will be walk and the odd little jog if I feel up to it. 51 miles in 12 hours would be walk to the end. That's why I'm doing the charnwood marathon ad a walk would like to go sub 7! But who knows

Its still a way off but everyone is being so amazing offering their help so here is the basic plan so those who have offered are clear about what I need and who I think have offered to help

The first 51 miles I can have no help although seeing people at the cp would be great. I intend to get there in daylight. Start time is 10 am so around 11 hours.

So help needed for the night. Currently I intend to put on extra clothes and WALK so pace will not be an issue. I think so far the following have offered to help in the night

2 others not from FORUM

I have a crew car so depending on weather will have lots of options

Once daylight comes it would be great to still have help and now I have more people think that may be possible

The cut off is 28 hours and will be looking at sub 26 so if things go wrong have a bit in the bank so finish will be between 12 and 2 Sunday.

What you will need to do is simple be nice and be horrid in equal amounts. If I say I want to quit don't let me unless its injury based.

Crew would be great Fido. Everyone is being very upbeat. 17 day's to the next big stepping stone. Target for quadzilla will be 4 x sub 5. Last year managed sub 18 but took well over a month to recover can't afford that this time. Day 3 will be marathon/ultra number 50 so something to look forward to

FRC just invested in suummto 3 which with 1 min gps should do the route. Can download from centurian site but my computer can't cope going to local computer shop and paying for an hour to hopefully get it sorted. Be great if you also had the route. I AM Still terrified by the night.

Will get through quadzilla then sort out voice confrence as now have car at least 3 pacers so just need to organise.

Hello all. I feel a bit of a fraud on here these days and don't post much but will always be about. As a race report has been asked for

 race report

Start line 2 minutes to go SNOW! not much but 15 minutes later in the Chiltern hills a blizzard. In a strange way helped as foot prints to follow and less mud. First hour just over 5 miles  so close to what I wanted which was 12mm and as had walked a fair amount already. just before CP1 first fall on a road section as wearing trail shoes but no issues. 2nd hour a bit quick 50 minutes but more road on this bit Hit the half mara point in 2.30.01! should have had a sprint. Lead up to cp2 involved a flooded road with no choice but to go through. Lovely. Next 3 hours went to plan some running some walking kept the 10 minutes gained but no more. The friend I was with really helped just getting over a cold so going slower than he would have done big learning. CP3 was on the canal so no longer worried of getting lost and wanted to experiment with different run/walk Started with 15/5 Ok but starting to blow a bit 10/5 worked for a while but legs were starting to get sore so did most of the last 15 miles with 7/3 which worked really well and kept the pace close to target. Big fall at 32 miles did not help when I ran into a branch and now have a massive bruise so lucky to be able to keep going. The last 10k from the last cp were a real confidence boost as with the above felt fine. At the end NEW I could have kept going as this was always meant to be a training run. The only reason the time looks good was the actual distance was 43.19 miles so slipped a bit from target but very happy with a near = split. Today stairs etc are OK not going to run but would hope to be ready for a gentle jog mid week.

Just coop going. Ultra r great your ment to walk but there tough!

Fido I'm struggling to get down and ad today showed it can go so wrong. But for a chap who had downloaded route would have gone wrong big time. As for food good news is unlike comrades didn't struggle to eat think because was going slower big lesson but the chips sounds good

8.43 today at country to capital. Tired and my legs hurt. 1 blister another plus. Very happy will do a report Sunday
