Great running all

sub 50 Susan VERY impressed

Howard Brilliant but don't push to hard

IKLE Funny you should mention parkrun because of work don't get a chance but may just manage it tomorrow as on a funny shift at work

Shedboy very special run ahead

Not such a great week for me this week work long days so only managed 2 runs this week. I have found a great hill route of 4,5 miles which is just plain nasty 2 miles down 2 sides of a square then 2.5 back up the other side. Running by feel and 10 seconds quicker this week A good test weekly and will help as have decided to enter the SDW50 as part of my training. 6 weeks before the big one a cut off of 13 hours with my plan to finish in the last hour

Thanks all

So the watch is off the list and the best waterproof I can get is on. Had a friend offer to be support car last night. Think that's the best bit of kit news yet

thanks Main training route is my local canal which is a nice mix of off road and gravel path but will head down to the tames for some of the night stuff at some point 50 miles onwards.

Only reason thinking of watch is not to go off to quick so think maybe 2 x garmin is the way forward. Jacket will spend as much as I can afford

I have entered the TP100 and started looking at kit so need help

WATCH Currently have a GARMIN 405 which dies after 5 hours but lasts a week as a watch. There does seem to be watches that would last the 28 hours (Suunto Ambit looking the best) but with only taking a signal every 60 seconds read would it be worth it? Considering getting a couple of old ones 205 and using them beginning middle and end to give me some idea of pace

Jacket- So many to choose from any ideas cost is a factor but have read enough to know a cheap one is a BAD idea

Gloves- Was going to carry a couple a pears of thin ones rather than the mittens recommended unless the day is dreadful. Same with the hat

Any other tips would be great. I have pacers from half way and should have a crew car

Hello Shedboy good to have you back. The night running is for me. I have entered the Thames Path 100 miler next May so will be out overnight with several of the amazing people from this thread who have offered to pace me

IKLE Why not excited?

Howard hope its gone well

First power work done 4 miles in an hour feels very strange walking back into the house not breathing hard but was nice to look around a lot more. I have decided on 4 days running 1 day walking and a round of golf! on day 6 as my training NO ONE else will have that. Mileage starting to build up 3 x 10 milers in the last 2 weeks but not pushing to hard as need to stay healthy. Off this weekend so going to see how long a 20 takes me along the canal using the 25/5 run walk and more important feeling  OK rather that pushing like crazy for 3 hours (See Im trying to be good) The best news so far is Im enjoying the new challenge and have my mojo back O for those who are friends on FB I have turned off my FETCH training

Hello all. For those looking just to finish are you putting any walking into your training? Just had my first power walk. 4 miles in an hour which I guess is OK but it was a proper walk not just the "death march" that people talk about so not sure if its worth it. ?

HI FIDO Fancy seeing you here
