Training for a shorter Tri

wow, pete, well done!!

I have a very attractive and annoying eye infection - came on overnight and went to boots to get some eye drops at lunch. Got home and OH said it looks like I have punched.

Chris - yes, it was a very hot day here today - over 23 degrees when we were out shopping this afternoon.

Any chance you can get to a physio to get your ankle looked at? They would be able to advise whether to run or not. But you are right to think in the long term, better to DNS than to get injured and be out for a long time

buttercup - just one of those things! What is Oxford? a half marathon?

so I didn't do the half today, not happy but it wouldn't have been a good idea to run as I am just not feeling well enough. Went to pick youngest son up from scout camp and my legs felt exhausted just walking a few hundred yards up the campsite so just as well I didn't but still, it has been a year of DNSes for me! (ok, not totally, and I have had some good events too)

only 2 weeks to York marathon and I feel very umprepared! However, my calf/achillies issue seems to be ok

hi all

Chris - I think it is impossible to do a good time at something like GNR - you just have to see it as doing it for the experience of the big race I think. Good luck for Chester

rain - erm, I am feeling very unprepared, I don't feel as fit as I did for the Welsh marathon earlier this year! Today I should have done the Nottingham half but have been under the weather all weekend so decided not to do it. What will be will be at York and I think I will be slower than at Llanelli but never mind!

Just a Little Bit Further - 2014

hi everyone

well done franny on your running

AF - that is bad news about your back, hope it is ok for next week

I was supposed to be doing Nottingham half today but on Friday started to feel unwell - just weak and headachy and tired really, so haven't done anything much all weekend (apart from the normal looking after family stuff!!)

Who else gets up at stupid O clock to run ??
