Training for a shorter Tri

Posted: Today at 20:03

CJ - I would love to, but I think really I need to spend time with the family, lots of little things that I won't go into, but youngest son just needs time with me I think. Kids are both away at a scout camp for the outlaw weekend so it won't be a problem then! Glad to hear that you are going to make it, yes, weather forecast is rubbish, but sometimes the forecast is rubbish but then it doesn't turn out too badly, so fingers crossed

why do you feel it necessary to want to put someone down for something they have achieved just because someone else has done something bigger?

anyway, I hope he manages it, it will be interesting to watch and see how it goes. Hawaii and Alaska first was good planning!

MrsD - I was avoiding that question!! It is going to be another DNS for me - various reasons and I did want to give it a go, but there are more important things at the moment really. Been a rubbish year so far really for me! I am getting criticism at home for the wasted money on the DNSs, but most of them have been due to being ill on the day, not a lot I can do about that.

Anyway, I am ticking over and main focus now is the outlaw swim and a pb at Nottingham marathon in September (only need to go sub 6 for a pb). I am pretty confident about the swim, just need to get some ow and wetsuit practice in, and there is a lake I can go to after school on Thursdays

yeah, I guess. I might wait and see if they send out any codes for 10% off or something!

Could be elsewhere.

apart from the drive to and from work, when I am often thinking about work, planning lessons, thinking about any issues. As soon as I walk through the door at work I don't stop until I leave. And I usually bring work home too - planning and marking. I try not to think about how many hours a day I work as I might end up working out my hourly rate and realise how bad it is....

morning all

cal - I fancy a half marathon towards the end of June but Richmond park is a bit far. There is a trailblazer one just up the road from me, which is through clumber park which is beautiful, but it costs £50 which is a bit steep really! Although I suppose it you weigh up no parking and only a 25 min drive it so not much travel cost....

but there don't seem to be many around me at this time of year
