Ive moved to Crosland Moor for a short while but work shifts. Ive run to slawaitha afew times from Crosland. i tend to run during the day as I work nights mostly. If this is any good to you gimme a shout as I could do with  a running buddy in this area to get me up thos hills !

7.5 miler in Huddersfield. Living on  a hill has its ups and downs ! Ran down to the canal. Just over an hour. Lovely sun shine. A bit slippery under foot but not too bad. Freezing conditions to begin with. Sweating starts after a short while

We are dedicated athletes ... as well as that I've only got another 23 miles to reach year end target of 777 - C'mon me !

I was thinking the same thing re - getting a second pair.... more recently given the weather Im finding that having just one pair isnt enough as they take a while to dry out.

As for 7 over the 8's  I wasnt too chuffed that I couldnt get hold of the 6's For me the 7's felt a little over supportive ... but Ive done some 600+ miles in them now and they are wearing well. At this time the 8's are on for £90 I can get the 7's for £50 For me thats a done deal

i was a gutted DNF .... my first attempt at a full marathon .. and what a day it was weather wise .

Calf went at mile 16 , tried to run walk it off but it was no good. Walked as far as mile 18 and sort refuge with 5 others. Got a ride back to base in ambulance. The passengers on board were same as me suffering with calf strains. Seems a common feature of such cold conditions?

Are other events organised in such a haphazard way ? It seemed there there was no consideration for the poor weather conditions.
Signed at the stadium seemed non existent.
And was there a tannoy / PA system ?

Anyway I'll put it down to experience.

Of course I'll need to find another event soon .... be a shame to waste all this recent training and not tick it off the check list.
