Soft Tissue Injury on Foot

Posted: 28/09/2016 at 17:26

I have a similar problem my second toe on the left foot has swollen up for no reason and there is pain in the ball of the foot aswell also shooting pain going up to the tips of the toes ,have been to the doctors and had a xray showing that there is no fractures, gout also been ruled as was arthritis so all he said was to rest it so I took a executive decision and took the week of work and the possibilty of the following week as well with the help of a doctors note.  I have pulled out of two H/Marathons so far and probably wont be doing the Snowdonia Marathon either but hope to train  again in time for the Newent 9km in November.

Hi  Dave    I am in the same boat I have lost my results for 1997 and not quite sure who the main sponsors were think it may be either Bupa or Virgin all I can remember is that Alan Shearer started the race off 1997 the year he broke his leg.  If you have managed to find the results perhaps you can contact me. Thanks

Glute Area Injury (Potentially Piriformus)

Posted: 03/08/2014 at 20:28

I have had what I fought was Piriformis for what seems eternity now and getting very frustrated as it doesn't want to go but went to a physio and she says although there's pain coming from the piriformis its my spine especially the left hand side of it   that's coursing it via nerve endings also it feels like sciatica running from the piriformis down to the heel but I feel nothing from my back whats so ever, I have been doing the usual exercises to help things along but it not getting any better in-fact its got worse I find it hard to get out of the bed in the morning also I have a running machine but only manage 20mins after that my leg feels like dropping off.

The Wales Marathon - With Closed Roads

Just brilliant I finished this race slightly over the time that I was aiming for by 10 mins but put it down to the heat  it was just to bloody hot. Lovely course taken in the best of the Pembrokeshire country side thats on offer I carried plenty of fluid around me and there was plenty on route aswell infact every 3 miles also the residents that lived on the route kindly got there garden sprinklers out which was very refreshing and appreciated by all. Will be back next year hoping to beat my time but hoping that it wont be as hot. A big thank you to all the organizers of the weekends events it was just brilliant. Well done.

Looking forward to this race it being my second Marathon since London 1999 knowing it to be far more hillier than Worcester Marathon in March but I am building it up for the Snowdonia in October, I am hoping to do the Welsh Marathon  around the 4 hour mark.

Good luck with your run its a briiliant course and your do well.

Thinking about this race then saw the price £21.00 way to much, for this price you should be running a half marathon  how can they justerfy thus amount.

Enjoyed this race the course being very flat and fast down country lanes with just a few vehicles to contend with. Well done the organisers and marshalls see you next year.

City of Salisbury 10 mile road race

Did this run on the 11th March and I must say it was one of the best that I have entered the course was out into the country north of the city running into villages well of the beaton track the course it self was fairly flat with a few not very steep hils more down than up, it was well marshalled and well organised starting and finishing at the atheletic track. I will certainly enter this race come next year and get another PB.

PS    Hats off to the organisers for a well run event.
