Bye Bye London Marathon cheats thread

Running a point to point marathon, one straight coast road next month.

Can anyone give me some advice on how I can um err avoid   a few miles.

My  ultras have to have mountains / big hills in them. So I can walk up hill , run the flat and down hills, not a lot to think about really.    If I find myself walking down hill then I know I am having a bad day / struggling .

Don't think  I have ever run a flat ultra , so cant advise sorry.

Good to hear from you fellas.  

12.5 miles tonight  8.01 sec a mile at 80% MHR, not including 1m w/up and .5m w/d.

Llanelli half this Sunday With 6 weeks before my marathon in France.

DD your back and that's the important thing.

VT you go to places I will only ever see on TV.

Seren , good to see you yesterday at the start. Great turnout for the first running of this race.

Unable to run myself as I have other plans, how did it go ?

Re swollen fingers I get it all the time, have done all my adult life whilst running and carrying a rucksack..

Never bothered me and once I have stopped running they return to normal quite quickly

Good going zicks.

15.1 miles today 70% MHR at 112bpm = 9 min a mile, happy with that after a visit to the physio with a issue with my hips.

8 weeks to go with still plenty of training lined up. 

Have you ever tripped while out running

Running a night race over the Brecon Beacons raining all day and night 16 ish miles into it, approaching another runner whilst going down hill, tripped landed on my back and passed him head first, must have slipped in the mud for 10/15 metres he did ask me if I was ok tho while we were both laughing.

T Rex you must live in the Newport ish area that's the only uphill with locks that I know along any canal.

All the best for your 50 mile river race, let us know the full story when you get back home.

Running across the road slowly is bad for you. I nearly got run over today and had to speed up,  bxxxxxd.
