HADD Training Method

Off on hols then back into Hadd for 6 weeks, ready for Snowdon marathon.

One hell of a w/e a 56 mile race has left me slightly tired

Great day out  well run and thanks to all the people who made this possible especially the " Pirates " at the  caving club.

Getting up Fan Gyhrych in 29 minutes after stepping over the stile till dibbing in at the top cheered me up. after passing so many people littered across the hillside on their backsides.

Managed to get to Storey Arms in daylight ( just ) helped me mentally to stay focused Seeing a few shooting stars whilst at the top of Fan-y-Big gave the day that extra touch. Well done to you all, one last thing NO map reading errors well happy with that.

T rex half hour sleep you lucky devil,   sat till 0700hrs drinking beer outside my tent, sun up time for bed !

Hope to get to the campsite by mid-afternoon tomorrow. We have booked a table at the local pub, stagger back     and listen to the race briefing, early night , early start.

I wish all runners the very best on Saturday, long or short course.


Cardiff Half Marathon

OH yes if you drive into Cardiff Park your car at the Athletic stadium and walk to the Castle  (small cost ) takes about 15 mins.

don't waste your time trying to get  your car any closer

If you book a hotel in Penarth get one near the train station its close to the town centre, trains on Sundays are 1 an hour.

Or bring a bicycle and cycle to Cardiff Castle its about 3.5 miles across the barrage.

Or run said route as a warm up.

Or go across the foot bridge next to Tescos ( more of a direct route ) should take you 30 mins to walk

Today ran 5 miles, 1 easy 3 at 80% 1 easy 42 mins in total.

56 mile race this weekend over the Brecon Beacons ( Gulp ) starting at 0500hrs so when you run your PR think of me, I will have run for 4 hours by then ( another Gulp )

Dr Dan your team mate and I would be good training partners as I ran the Severn bridge half marathon in that time last week.

Advice - Average Heart Rate on 5KM Run

Better still jog 1 or  2 miles to a local hill run up about 200/300metres turn round jog down repeat 4/5 times each time going faster and faster until the last time go eye balls out, when you reach the top look at your HRM your Heart Rate will be at its max, near as dam it.
