Ok GKD , the reason for asking this question was
a) this was my first ultra
b) after running a marathon in May ( which was by far from my first) I sustained a ? Stress fracture . Every person I saw since whilst injured said " well of course you shouldn't have started running again so soon after the marathon , you should have had x number of days off per mile of running ". I had felt fine at the time and was happy to be running again , no niggles etc but that first run back put me on the injury bench for 5 weeks .
So this time I thought I would just check that there wasn't some general rule everyone followed before I lept back into it .
