I might try to find my inner runner again - assuming this cough would ever sod off.

Or I might just eat the tonne of food in the larder and not worry about it in the style of those larger ladies who seem not to mind being larger. I wish I was one of them sometimes.

And Mousie, she isn't buried under fat, she's just feeling a bit shy. I hope your stress levels reduce soon xx

Poor Barley I hope he's feeling ok Schmunks. What a way to end an evening! I hope all your Westers had a fun time last night.

FeFe, I will not claim back my sick hollibobs days. It's more trouble and hassle than it's worth, you really get grilled about it. I thought I was getting better but yesterday was a big step back - no voice again and back to coughing all night long. Bloody hell, I'm boring myself.

Strictly was exciting though

Struck down by the germ ridden folk I came into contact with last week at work. So on my three "normal" days off I was ill and on two annual leave days...no voice, cough cough cough...ear now joining the party. I hate calling in sick but I had no choice, if I was a lady I wouldn't want me visiting my new baby.

I am fed up with having people in the house too. It's only the painter at the moment but  I hate it. Two of the new floors we have had put in have been marked by people working here, why do they take so little care? One of them I am hoping I can clean up but the floor in the main bathroom, nope. Once our new room is painted, the radiator goes on, then the carpet and then we can finally move into it. I cannot face anything being done downstairs until next year, I really don't know how these people on grand designs live in one room for two years whilst major work is being done!

Hope everyone is well and happy.

Heh in fairness, lots of bloods are routine and not because someone is poorly...and if only two tubes, the most it would be is 12mls I had 14 taken for clotting investigations and they rang to say they'd fallen out of the motorbike pannier and were squashed on the A40 and could I please go back in...even that 28 tubes was less than 100mls. Mind you, you prolly still need a beer to recuperate.

I think I might go to the pub for cider and burger, so over things being everywhere and we have our first proper visitors this weekend. At least the walls and staircase have dried and you can only see a stain if you look directly at it. The best thing about today was the delivery of my beautiful gentlemans wardrobe - ironically for my frocks. Still has the original shelf labels too, things like shirts, pyjamas and sundries. It's lush.

I actually think I'm going a bit loopy...and not just from the sealant smell of the stuff D is putting on the inside garage walls to start the process of making a Pain Cave.

Remind me to never move again...

Just in case anyone was wondering, going through a heating pipe with a circular saw isn't the best idea ever had by the father in law.

Ooooh, yeah, Wingers 80's Stylee would be orsum

welcome FlaFoo.

Last night we went to The Mulberry (Chris Evans owns it) and it was lovely. Often these celeb owned places are not much cop but it was great food and really cosy. Best thing was D's mum and twin sister - we were there for their 70th birthday - not being the same age. For some reason Auntie Vera is older by several years. Ahem.

Have a good day all, no doubt I'll be doing something exciting and house related, like cleaning Venetian blinds Before they get put back up...!

we haz a main guest room painted in Martian Magic...this makes me inordinately happy, as does my having 11 days off now. Huzzah! Next week new window in what will be our new room, then the rest of that can be done too.

Hope everyone is well and happy. I have only bought one crimbo pressie (normally all done & wrapped by now!). Am failure.

Hmm. Shockingly awful parkrun this morning thanks to dinner last night being a bit rich...not what I would choose to eat really and paid the price in last lap, thinking things were not going to be pleasant! Have spent last three hours asleep, feeling terrible...tummy less sore now I've woken.

Lush seaside walk, sea very angry. Got soaked to skin again...yesterday was in torrential downpour whilst dropping car to garage (again!)...sadly torrential rain & fierce winds are meaning we need to get all the old pebble & render from the 30's stripped off and re-done as we have some fairly spectacular rain damaged conservatory wall, where it joins to back of house. Hence car to garage, not new car, as money will go on house instead. Oh and D woke up to a pair of little eyes in pantry this morning...pesky mouse/rat. So now anti-rodent measures are being implemented.

so, all in all, I'm hoping the next two days off are better than the first two have been

Currently totally exhausted. We've had some really vile things at work this week, which have given me an overly anxious brain...then I woke up thus morning convinced the friend I was dreaming about (who has breast cancer) had died, was crying when I woke up. So relieved when I woke and she has not.

Home for four days now
