Friends of ours got places at Wales this year through Nirvana, GB...of course you pay more but it's one way in if you decide after Bolton to race there.

Duda, that was me, I'm no lady  ;) Congratulations on your first IM! It was lovely to meet you, hope the race was all you hoped for.

There's loads they haven't tagged to an athlete Hattie, if you've got the time and inclination to look. Funkin found a fair few of him that weren't assigned to him and now are.

Sorry to make you leaky eyed Tenby Tart, I was pretty leaky eyed myself. It was the worst I've ever been (and those that have known me the past few years know I get in a right state whilst Funkin is calm as you like!).

Well done everyone. Crazy course by the looks and sounds of things.

Two pictures of Funkin shown in the photos at the awards today *beam* so we gave a little cheer.

Rest and recover well Pirates!

Oh Jo I just saw you on the tracker and wondered if that had happened I'm so sorry. The Kayeman was saying there's a lot of seasick folk, currently about 40 bikes in T1 and according to Ref about 40 pulled out of water. Pants.

hope to see you later for a cuddle xxx

Are we nearly there yet?

Outlaw or Ironman Bolton??

If this really truly is your last Iron distance, do Bolton. Seriously.

The bike at Bolton changed this year to two laps not three (so only twice up Sheephouse but there's another nice hill as well now!) but it's not a fast course. Decent fast-ish riders about 5:15-5:30 last year (and not very many of them at that pace).

The run has also changed but still is undulating.

Funkin wouldn't do Outlaw again (unless he was just doing the bike in a relay he says) but he might do Bolton again in a couple of years. This year was Nice and then (fingers crossed) Tenby in a couple of weeks.

The MDot medals are much nicer too IMHO

Well, Joddly, I think D is implementing the Martin Yelling inverse taper at this point He was always going to Epic Camp for the experience, never out to be at the top (which is good as he's at the back of the pack there) - but there's a few of them who are riding and running together, which is good. I can't really speak to him much, yesterday was 190k plus the run and swim - and I think he's the only one that has a race very soon after returning (he's back on 1st Sept), so he's keeping a bit of a lid on it. After today he's halfway though, which is good for the head I think.

I am super excited to see everyone
