Two spare rooms are cleaned, tidied, bedding washed and ironed and back on and ready for next weekend when we have visitors again. Third spare escaped being used this weekend by the skin of it's teeth...! My own clean bedding hasn't made it back on yet, that will be this weekend. We nearly had pirates visitors this coming weekend but it wasn't to be. Blimey, my life is thrilling!

I did make a jolly yummy lasagne too. We briefly saw the sun this afternoon/evening so took advantage for a walk along the Prom after this morning's deluge on our walk.

Back to work tomorrow, in the next nine days I'm working seven of them, including two on calls. This is quite a lot for me now I'm very part-time and I suspect by next Friday I will be weary. Ah well.

Bless poor Murph and his boil in the bag raincoat, Melds. Nose rub from me please

Brilliant stuff from Jr, Schmunks. You must both be chuffed to bits. Well done to him and happy A levelling

Wenlock was orsum He's still on my fridge and I may have had my photo with a few of them around own too, one of my faves being Sari Wennie in Brick Lane he's also still on my lanyard on a bike...oh such happy memories of the Limpets.

I've looked again and I'm with Ferret. Untimely and painful demise at the beak of the owly thing is on the cards *shudder*

Rained and rained all day here too and yesterday and tomorrow...and I'm trying to do my bedding ready for visitors again this weekend, as I waved the last visitors off yesterday...spare rooms make for a lot of chores! My poor leaky conservatory wall is quite soggy thanks to the wind direction...thank goodness the scaffolders come next week and then the back of the house will be stripped back and re-rendered. That's just what we need, to spend a tonne of dosh just before going away. Cor, I'm cheery. I am really, as I will be pleased when it's all done

Well I chuckled at Jess Ennis' face on the podium the other night, when she was presented with her mascot...I could imagine her thinking, "Hmmmm, will little Reggie like this, or is it a bit sinister"

I'm with you on the sinister, is Jess Ennis too

I'm a seaside bumpkin, Mousie (if there is such a thing!). You visit the moo cows, I visit the waves. I hate the Big Smoke now, when I have to go for work I get quite distressed...but then I know it's only three days a week. If I had to do more, I'd be traumatised! That sounds a bit drama-queen-y I know but the peace we have down here makes it even worse. Ah well. No jobs here, so I shall grin and bear it.

Might have to study the inside of my eyelids later, awful sleep last night. I think Meldy should give me sleeping lessons.

Oooh, yes, kayaking rocks We have a double and a single. Hope does proper kayaking though, ours are just sit on top ones.

We had the same weather yesterday Mousie, managed to take window of opportunity to walk to the Pier with god-daughter and her mom and pop, then had an ice cream on the way home. Saturday night was fireworks, BBQ and drinks at the sailing club. I tried to break into a light jog on Friday and was shown that my calf is not yet ready for such shenanigans. I am on call again this weekend, so maybe next weekend I will try to run. I want to be able to do the 5k in Hawaii, so I can get another sparkly medal like last time. Currently just getting fatter and fatter. Pesky.

The crash at Shoreham was awful. The Vulcan and Spitfire flew over our house and we didn't know why the timings were weird, then we saw the news people are now attacking the pilot, which makes me sad.

Mousie, new job started today! Wowsers! I'm very glad you enjoyed it (and hope the Mouse House is coming along well too and you are settling in nicely).

Hope everyone else is well and happy too.

Oh dear Seren, most irritating.

The patient's injuries are healing pretty well and he has gone on the turbo (he's also ridden his mountain bike on a couple of short journeys but can't ride on the road really as the bumps jolt the injuries too much, same when he tried to run). I've got to say, as trying to train for an IM goes, this year has been the worst ever!

Right, time to tend to the roast pork...
