great weekend of running again by everyone! Getting close now

Stephen, thought I was you as I approached I remember you saying about the vest thought you had bombed out, showed some good comrades guts to dig in and hold to me like you did as I was on a mission ha ha! Great work, all good stuff in the Comrades bank eh? Happy with 2.51.30 and a neg split. See what I got in me in Boston now

slow duck, awesome! You know your gonna try 3.14.59 on Sunday, rude not to surly?

Poacher, no your not alone.

Fido, I'm tried and tested with ironman and that took 10+ hours do I thnki I'm gonna go with a similar routine, carry 4 gels and grab what there in the first 3 hours after that gels and maybe if it's good anything on the tables I fancy. Average 8 min miles is the plan but I'm just gonna go with the flow and everything crossed. New territory for me, I'm a nervous/excited wreck at the mo.

untapered Manchester marathon this week for me to, so let's see what tired legs hold.

Fido1dogs, Rome was chaos at start, I was in elite but they wouldn't let me in so had to walk all the way around to the back, fight through 18000 people! bad organisation at the start.  I am the same, bloated from Rome food and Peroni, feel like I've been inflated. It was ok after the gun. Course had been changed and the last 5k was much harder than before.

Onwards and upwards, manchestaaaa here we come

Well done everyone, some great times and training done this wk. unfortunately lack of willpower let me down in Rome. Over indulged in pasta, pizza and Peroni resulting in a pain 26.2 at Rome. Was hoping to be in a low 2.52/3 shape but struggled in at 2.57.

Must at get back on track in Manchester now.

Great work Marty, Becca and FRC!!

Ive been sticking to my plan and all seems ok at the mo, 1.22.09 half last week so nice to be getting back a little pace. Been doing 2-3 min steep hill reps x 10 so I think that's helping. Hopefully a sub 2.55 at Rome and I'll be back on track. Taking a easy week now to get over the last 6 then long race pace stuff up to early May and 3 week taper time. Roll on!!

Get well soon WA!

Keep up the great work

Dannirr, I'm a newbie to the Comrades but I plan on doing less weekly miles but I'll be racing the 5 marathons I've entered from March-May. I know I can recover from them by June 1st but I wouldn't handle the weekly mileage comrades requires. Think it's a case of knowing your body and each to there own.

Hi all, as for training and lead up I'm similar and a newbie, so 5 marathons Rome, Manchester, Boston that one every 2 weeks and lastly 2 in 2 days early may, Worcester/MK as there fairly close to each other. That's 4 wks out then time to wind it down, maybe some shorter faster stuff.

when is everyone arriving In Durban? I land in the wed 10am from heathrow via JB. Also staying at Belaire. Is the airport bus shuttle easy to find and how long does it take roughly?
