Tatton half marathon

I really enjoyed this race - my first HM and a time of 1:45:27

It was really cold at the start especially after waiting an extra ten minutes on the starting line for all the traffic to get in - my carefully timed warm-up was useless!  The race soon got going though and it was a great course - not really hilly but I did have a slow mile for mile #12 as it was a mild climb and I was knackered

Hope this race happens next year.

Most of the route is along tarmacced roads and the bit that is inside the park itself is on paved tracks I think.  It will be a cold start though have a good race everyone!

Not dodgy at all, who wouldn't want to pay $40 and shipping for an outdated gimmick that's lmost certain to injure you?

Thanks. Is that your opinion on all Nike Free running shoes or just the ones in that link?

I bought a pair of nike free run kukini shoes last month, very comfortable and light, even cheap.

I'm guessing this is spam, but just in case, is this price for real or are they dodgy in anyway?

10K training

I'm ten years older than you () but for what it's worth.... I did my first 10k in Manchester, 2011, after 3 months of 3 times a week running from a starting point of being fairly unfit I got a time of 50:16.  The same race and a year later after a fairly inconsistent year of 3 times a week running (with the odd gaps for getting married, honeymoon, and minor injuries) I managed 48:33.  If I had been more thorough with training, I reckon I could have got a minute or 2 better, so I think you could get the improvement you wanted with the right training as you have youth on your side!
