Parkrun Marathon to be established

Since 2010, funnily enough, parkrun has organised a 'longest parkrun' - usually run in June, near the longest day, in SW London this involves running all or some of seven parkruns (Bushy Park twice). It's not a million miles away from a marathon, if one is being fanciful, but you can run as many or as few as you wish and take your time about it, and obviously you have a bit of a rest and then have to travel to the next one. So not THAT far-fetched...

It's worse than a marathon. Your legs have time to seize up during the drive between parkruns and the groans from everyone can be heard from the location of the previous parkrun. But you do have time to get a sandwich or ice cream at about lunchtime.

I'm looking forward to it already - it was fabulous last year!

Can you enter on the day?

No you can't, but if you post just before, there will be lots of people wanting to give their number up, I'm sure...

MBNA Chester Marathon 2014

I did Chester last year and it's fabulous. I was in pain from an injury all the way round and still loved it.

I don't like training for an autumn marathon, so said no more. Then I entered Chester again on New Year's Eve. Oops

I had a scan-guided cortisone injection this morning, so another week of no running for me...

Nope, definitely wasn't you if you were that far ahead

Pete I was running with a Tamar Trotters lad as well from about mile 19 to 21 I think. Lad was mature like a fine wine and getting a bit bored by the flat's. He looked in a little pain.

Yes, I remember that guy too. He didn't seem too happy.

I put my half time into the calculator (not my half PB, which was set last year and when I was a heck of a lot fitter), but the half I did in March, and I ran 3 minutes faster than my predicted marathon time.

If I put my overall 5k PB in there (also last year), it predicts I should be running an hour faster

Believe this is it.  Says marathon but apparently Ironman.  Amazing, that bloke in the blue vest was exactly like the second lass to appear in this.

Yes, that's the one.

I did a swimming session last night. Having coaching so couldn't miss it. The session before Manchester, I got told I kick too hard as I have 'heavy legs'. The heavy legs were totally true last night!

Off to the gym tonight and then trying to persuade my other half to take a 30 mile detour on the way to Ambleside to do Keswick parkrun on Saturday.

Well done on him for finishing. I hope he was okay afterwards.

I saw a video once that was the end of an Ironman and two women were battling it out for the finish and they were like newborn giraffes. If anyone can find that, it's quite a watch!
