Was thinking of you TS today esp when they mentioned where the  finish was wondered if you were there watching.

It has surprised  me previously  a  cycle  race like this   never interested me never could understand  the point of a  peleton. tv man has explained

I am  loving it I want to move to move to Yorkshire (friend on fb says Northumberland is prettier lol)

Afternoon

Graham good luck tonight hope you have a good enough gap between the 2 races.

As for the 82 year old a prime example  of us all being an experiment of one. But remember one of the coaches at my  now ex club said to me  after I did 4 races in 3  days  he wouldn't of advised me to do that. (I wouldn't of either)

yeah run walk is good  for me esp when I've had a  break good  for  building up the miles without wrecking your  body

Columba you just run whatever number of days a week you want to and can.

NZC your poor  granddaughter. Hopefully  her next cast she'll be able to walk on

2.18 miles  run today took it easy as I will all week

Morning

Columba - Yes  one of Van Aakens  sayings is Run slowly, run daily drink moderately and don't eat  like a  pig. Using your runs and adding  creative walking  breaks

What I particularly liked about him was he  thought  women were excellent endurance runners at a time when the powers that  be didn't allow them to run far. He was a man ahead of his time

TS - forgot you were run walking the paces you did  pretty good

Feel ok today will do a little run later though not  far and will try a little  kip later if I can

Evening

Mick Good mileage even if a  bit  down  from your normal.

Only managed 58  miles myself but that my best since Oct 2012

Graham  Well done on the 10km I always find it hard judging ages its not easy. Guess the hills will always find you out some  are better on them  than others

TS Good running i'm impressed how quickly you've  upped the length of your runs  well done

5.59 miles today initially  planned 5 miles run walk had a loo in the yellow book (The Van Aaken Method) to have an idea what workout to do. Decided on  10 x 350 m run 50 m walk then  a 5km  run supposedly at 4 mins slower than  best  pace. Did the  5km in 32:50

Was tough but  manageable

Gives me 19.3 miles for the week

Next week may  be a  cut back Big week at work

Afternoon

don - Crikey. Hope the docs can get to the bottom of it and treat whatever it is.

Forever. Happy Birthday

Mava congrats again. Funnily  enough I remember reading  in a  book years ago best thing you can do to aid recovery post marathon is to go dancing, maybe  something in that.

RFJ Good stuff from you yesterday  supporting am sure it was well appreciated

LMH Hope your day was good

What: 5.69  miles  some walk breaks Why: Going  longer

Last Hard: That Lyrics No

Was planning  on 5 miles and  probably  a run walk looked in my Van Aaken  book to get an idea of a workout  came up with 10 x 350 m run, 50 m walk then  5000m run at a  pace  4 minutes slower than best

I take that as current  best so 34 minutes or 33:39 to be exact

I did 32:50 (10:34 pace)

Good run warm but coped with it

Evening

parkrun today

warm today but not uncomfortable but least I was only running 5km and not a marathon.

Started steady just the aim of  picking off a  runner one  by one

1m - 9:50(9:50/m) 1m - 9:31(9:32/m) 1m - 9:26(9:26/m) 0.1m - 51(8:12/m)
29:39

Last bit a  bit slower than  last week legs not  firing may start some  200s the week after  next  to get a  bit of speed in  or a bit of fartlek

no win this week 4th in age group 12th lady overall but 65 runners this week (last week was 34)
