you will be pleased or distressed not sure which to know it wasnt.......underprepared, undertrained and under no illusiuon that ir was going to be easy I went for longs and a helly under the singlet and an 8 1/2 min mile strategy
A parka, a zimmer frame and a wetsuit would have been a better choice........
............it ws quite pleasant for the firs 5 miles, nice and easy no rushing, in survival mode. then the rain started and gor harder then turned to sleet then snow,,,,,, then it stopped then it repeated itself, but harder,,,,, Hip flexors started playing up at about 10 but got really tight by about 15 and it ws a run walk cry strategy from then on in and even actually walked the whole of the last mile, . Over the hoped for 3 hours but at least I can have a crack again next week and see how it all holds together.......

I hope you get the heel pain sorted, if it is impact related then maybe some of the sorbothane heel only inserts might help but if it is a spur or suchlike I ill leave it to the experts
