Comrades 2013

Posted: 24/05/2013 at 10:42

Hi Safer,

Yes - would be cool to meet up before getting into the pen. I am not wearing the UK vest as really wanted an Irish one but due to crazy flag wearing / waving stuff that has gone on in Ireland over the past few years, there was sadly not one available. I have yet to decide what I am wearing as per normal, as really, haven't got a THING to wear!!

Where are you and Douglas staying ??  I am in City Lodge.

Becca - many thanks for getting my hoped for time added to the list and also for your help in trying to get into the pasta party. You were right, running Comrades is bound to be easier than that ! I have decided that I just could not be bothered with it all and will just go with the flow when there. Am down to do the BF bus tour that day anyway where hopefully will get a decentish lunch then will just see what I can find in the evening.

I so want to join in with the geekyness and put up my stats but alas I am at work and do not have my lovely training book with me....will post laters...BUT I am able to say that I have lost over 10 pounds in weight which happened from April onwards. Looked abit scraggy there for a while but all good now.

This time next week eh ?????? And please God, let's have some warmth on our poor, sun starved, UK bods. 7 degrees here today on the South Coast !!

Jeez ther eis just so much to think about itsn't there ?? Not 'just' Comrades, but all the prep at home etc etc.......

Right - I am in Pen D on a 3.51 marathon. Would love to get a sub 11 and that is what I'm going for....so....10.50 with that 'cushion'.  First Comrades so am just making this up as I go along !

Just about over a chest infection. Bloody awful it was.

Thx Becca who has been in touch by e.mail and sorted me out on one or two things.

International drinkies Thursday

BF bus tour Friday

Pasta Part Fri eve.

Expo Saturday - or maybe Thursday - depends on time.

I have been very slow in getting sorted and am trying to get on to it now. I like the sound of the stuff that's going on.

Am STILL undecided about bus tour but it's looking unlikely. I think just chilling in my hotel is best for me.

Right - am liking drinks at Hilton on Thurs.

Expo Fri p.m.

Pasta Party - is that the RW one ??  If so...yes.

Am liking ALL the Monday shenanigans..........

Carmen - I don't have the UK vest....am originally from Ireland and tried to get an Ireland vest but there were some issues with certain 'flags'. So, I am in my day-glo H & M vest. That'll do me.

Hey Windsor - I got my insurance from goodtogoincurance.com. Seemed to have all that I needed.

I also had a Comrades dream. I was walking around the Expo....topless....no-one seemed to notice so I just went with it BUT the most hoprrendous thing was I had my crappy old trainers on !!  The weird dreams have deffo started.

Well, I tried AA insurance which looked good but without going into detail, I have an ongoing medical issue so they wouldn't insure me...even tho it is a very SMALL issue !!!!!

I went with goodtogoinsurance.com.

I had the first of many weird dreams last night. Was at Comrades Expo...topless....and wearing my crappy old trainers. No-one seemed bothered.

Oh....hahahahahaaaa.....God my brain is mush, MUSH I tell you. I am in pen D...if I get out of bed and get there.

I met SD at Crawley Track a few weeks ago and he was telling me all about the different numbers. It's all very thinky this Comrades malarky.

I have just done my insurance so another thing off my vast list of Stuff To Do.

I am waking up during the night and my brain is going into overdrive with it all.
