Advise Runnersworld complete guide to nutrition brill book & yes eating after once you get into longer runs is vital. Also depending on how far you eventually want to run or whatever your long term goal is runnersworld will have a training plan to suit. Good luck.

I did my first last October aged 43 & have now done 4, I ran upto 20 in training but I did a tough hilly twenty, you defo have the time but I would recommend having a look at a runnersworld marathon training guide. Good Luck.

I have done quite a few of these kind of races & some are fairly easy to follow & others not so, I'll be surprised if there aren't checkpoints every 5-6 miles so if you take your phone they should provide you with a number to help getting back on course. These kinds of races are a lot less pressured generally than road races often with tea n coffee n cakes at checkpoints, just try & be relaxed & enjoy it, the only other advice would be don't go flat out try & keep something in the bank. Good luck to you both.

Trail gives less impact which is always good & can help with stamina building. Good luck anyway Goji

I did a 6 lap marathon with a half incorporated of similar but slightly smaller size & actually found it helped having people running at different speeds to chase down & focus on & also found that people soon got very stretched out so I doubt congestion will be a major problem (Well hope not anyway)

I'm in exactly the same boat & my plan is to do my long run 5 weeks before which I have done before with no ill effects.
