Happy new year to all on the Runner's World forums.

swapping race numbers

The problem with swapping race numbers is that if you collapse and require emergency medical treatment you could be given drugs that you are allergic to, or an on going illness that you have may not be dealt with, as they will think that you are someone else.

Also, they would notify your next of kin that you have collapsed, when in actual fact it would be another runner that has been taken to hospital.

Poppies don't actually celebrate war. They commemorate those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

It's shocking how few people seem to be wearing a poppy this year compared to previous years. The money goes to looking after British servicemen and women who have been injured fighting in various conflicts around the world, and also to help the families who have lost loved ones in action.

Surely it's not too much to expect people to buy a poppy and wear it. Wear your poppy with pride.

Happy Halloween.

Needing to 'go' whilst out running.

A few years back I was out for a run in the countryside and I had the sudden urge to poo. I had to run in to some woods and use some long grass as loo roll.

I was just wondering, what do the rest of you do when nature calls on the run?

What pets do you think it's cruel to keep and why?

Electric eels. They don't get enough space in the tank to 'charge' about.

A-Boom-Tish.

Anyone who hides behind a profile with absolutely no personl info just so they can insult and belittle people without fear of getting wat they deserve.

Agreed. They are pathetic, as they won't even show their real face. Quite laughable really.

so gales are expected

As a nation we panic about the weather too much. Ok, there was a bit of structural damage down south, but can you imagine people who come from countries where they have proper severe weather moaning about this?

Britain needs to man up.
