Rest is the short term solution and will heal you up ready for your IM just do your swim and run if you cant bike do some core and leg strenght gym work instead.
Are your shorts nice and tight any looseness or bagginess allows them yo move around causing friction i really dont get on with cycle shorts and large pads and find tri shorts and a smaller pad much more comfortable even over 100+ mile rides. Have you tried altering the angle of your saddle? A couple of degrees of drop on the nose may take the pressure off
