Just A Little Bit Further 2013

Ugh, I dunno about you guys but I've had enough of this!  I want to be able to jog to the gym, but it's too much of a faff to change out of my full winter running gear into my gym clothes!  Not really running at the moment, but am doing cardio warmup/cool down just before hitting the iron hard!

Hope everyone's doing OK.

So much for the imminent shorts/t shirt weather: apparently, we're due for a cold snap here in the UK.  Ahahahaha.

Yep, it's 13 degrees here - that's almost shorts & T shirt weather!  Having to don the full winter gear is getting tiresome now, so I'm looking forwards to the milder weather.

Hi people!  Thought I should make an appearance so you know I haven't been abducted by aliens.

Haven't been here for ages because nothing's really going on to be honest.  I'm only doing one or two 5k sessions a week because I'm focusing on building muscle mass right now - I've had enough of being thin.  So it's floor/bench presses, deadlifts and squats (oh my) for me at the moment.

Has anyone tried the new 'Boost' shoes from Adidas - thoughts?

Laters.  Will definitely post some before/after pics in a few months or so.

Sorry - I detest Valentine's Day for two reasons: one, it's commercial BS and two I split up with an ex. on Valentine's Day of all days.

So do I.  Why should there be one day where you show someone you love them?  And for single people, why should there be one day when they feel even more like crap than usual?

Valentine's Day is a load of commercial rubbish.

Just come back from a 5.34km - with a bit of a difference:  Remember I said last time I ran that my fitness had gone out of the window and that I was fatigued at around 15 minutes?  Well today when I got tired, I kept finding more and I felt that I was going at a good clip today.

I'm thinking it might be down to the latest addition to my diet: oatmeal shakes.  I've only been drinking them for a couple of days, but today I really felt like I had a lot more energy!  I'm taking oatmeal shakes to increase my calorie intake (yes, you heard right).  I've decided to make my main goal to build muscle: after all the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn anyway.  Not looking to get huge; I've always found that a bit freaky looking and at 5ft 6in it wouldn't suit me anyway.  Just nice and athletic - like your average Premiership footballer would do.

Next time I go, I'll use a route I know is exactly 5k - if I trash my PB, then I have my answer, eh?

RR - how can you forego cake?? although I love a nice fresh banana smoothie too. Not that keen on dougnuts, always taste a bit greasy

Well, y'know - I looked at both, and then Mr Healthy Option kicked in and I thought - nah, I'll just stick a couple of bananas and milk in the Magic Bullet!

Donuts can vary - you can usually tell by just looking at them in my opinion: if they're light and golden in colour, they shouldn't be too greasy, but if they're darker then they're almost always too greasy in my experience.  Can't stand greasy donuts...euuuch.

Just been offered donut or carrot cake - went with a banana smoothie instead.  Mmmm, nice - gonna chuck some strawberries in next time!
