Has the Southern relays always had a vets race? we don't have that in the Northern version!!

Apparently my true threshold pace is 5.41 based on last lactic threshold test!! I think I'm still adapting to the training because all my other stuff easy/recovery pace is coming out around 6.30ish so feel I'm running a bit fatigued most of the time. 60-65 mile per week all under 6.30ish is tough for an old bugger !!

I'm really preparing for next year as a V50 but would like to run a good 10k in November then knuckle down to a strong winter's training ready for early spring racing and try and stay injury free!!

Dachs as I'm now working to HR then the answer is yes but as you rightly say if I'm feeling fatigued pace may not be as sharp as if a one off threshold.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek as I've only done this 3 times in the last 6 months normally it's a 45 min threshold followed by speed session !

When I did do it came out on both threshold runs at 5.52 pace then 5*1k Ave 3.08!! but that was a few weeks before my 5K "Old fart" PB

I am doing 2 thresholds per week and 1 speed session but not necessarily back to back at the moment

Anyone doing Northern 6 stage tomorrow?

What do people think about 60 min Threshold, 45 min threshold and then a speed session 3 days on the bounce? Dachs trying to deflect for you

I was thinking what a good Mile after 16x200m wondered what RicF meant!!

I've no real idea what's going on with you all in detail but a quick scan shows all seem to be training and racing extremely well as normal (Matt I did see you fast 5k well done)

Dean's speed is becoming legendry and great 5k Dachs knew you would smash 16 !!

I'm putting down a strong base last 4 weeks 61,60,65 and 64 and a lot of threshold running. My slowest average mile pace last week was 6.47 and average around 6.20ish, Did my first speed session 4x5mins last Thurs came out average 5.22 pace and no issues with hamstring this was straight off the back of 2x45min threshold runs on the Tue/Wed so running tired!!

I'm planning Capenhurst 5k in August but main focus a strong 10k in Autumn but I need to improve my speed endurance to break 33

Stevie there is a school of thought that static stretching does no good and that dynamic stretching is the way to go!! but what would I know? I can't stretch beyond mid shin and I'm told this can effect injuries, cadence and potential speed ! Agh that'll be it then!

Dachs absolutely brilliant great run well done now your faster a 5 and 10k than me I'll just have to work harder
