Bike Buying

Posted: 14/08/2016 at 20:12

Mainly weight, there will be some minor advantages but I doubt anyone bar pros will be able to tell. I have tried Dura ace, Ultegra and 105 and couldn't tell much difference, if any. If you aren't paying then go for the best  Also depends if you like the colour of the advanced 2, as we all know colour makes a big difference

Some may argue the DT wheels on the specialized are better than the Giant own brand, but other than that I can't see where the extra money is.

Id save £300 and go for the advanced 2, only difference being colour and 105 rather than Ultegra. I have 105 11 and it's great, can't see the benefit of going for Ultegra

What are people taking for lunch to work, especially without anywhere to heat food up. Just a case of taking previous evening meal left overs?

My name is ???????? and i am gonna seriously get my sh!t in one sock - Part 2

I would like to join and get my sock stuffed!

With the announcement of my daughters impending arrival, a wedding and moving house the past year has been a complete write off. I had many plans and thoughts of being able to train whilst renovating a house and spending time with family, this ultimately hasn't worked out.

So with putting on weight and losing any fitness I had gained prior I am further back than where I started.....the perfect place to stuff my sock!

I am going to start with very simple goals of being able to run 5k again under 30 minutes and aim to get out on the bike at least once a week, if the weather improves I will be able to get out early morning during the week before work as well.

Overall goal will be an event or 2 next year, we have booked to go out to Lanza but this will only be to support, I think the goal of IM will have to be in 2 years and UK based due to costs involved. So possibly an Oly and maybe a half next year plus a half mara and bike event would be a great year and start of IM training.

But baby steps first and to start getting off my arse and out there!
