Just a quick updatas over the past 6 weeks or so.
Here are my targets/objectives - August 2013
2k in under 60 mins (No idea where I am at the moment so this may get changed) - Swam 750m OW in 22 mins so should be bang on target for this
100 'Welsh' miles in one go by the end of the year. Currently up to 60 miles
Running: This is my biggest weakness.
5k by September 29th (My first sprint Tri) - Park run has been 28 mins and completed my first tri at the weekend.
10k by end of the year - Booked for December
Half marathon by March 31st
Weight loss goals:
14 lbs by October 29th (My birthday) - Have dropped 9lbs so still on target
28 lbs by end of the year
This works out at just over 1lb a week so maintainable.
I will re-assess end of October and adjust accordingly
5k in under 25 minutes by end of December.
10k in under 60 mins by end of December
So I can honestly say I have completely ballsed things up, having put on half the weight I lost and any fitness I may have gained is well gone. The past month, it may be longer but I dare not work it out, I have done sweet FA!
But things are now going to change and the sock stuffing will begin. I feel like shit, look like shit and am immensely annoyed with myself for not carrying on what I had started.
So the plan is to keep things simple and just run, cycle and swim over the winter to keep me going, get a solid base before being able to start ramping things up come February/March.
With regards to events, I really wanted to enter Wales, I have hovered over the entry button a few times now, but for the cost of Wales I can enter the new 226 Iron distance, the long course weekend and the Bath Half marathon so it was a no brainier really. Come pay day these will all be entered so there is no back outing.
So Goals are simple, get down to 25 mins for 5K and hopefully around 1:50 for the bath Half in March. That's all I'm looking to do at the moment.
Bring on the sock stuffing!!!!!!
