Training for a shorter Tri

Posted: 09/11/2015 at 10:53

So following the birth of my daughter 8 weeks ago and subsequently doing nothing but eating and getting used to no sleep I am now back ready to start for next year.

I have been reading and got a few more pages to catch up on but it looks like everyone is doing well.

Ali - Im sorry to hear about Barcelona, I was routing for you!

My plan for next year has changed with the focus going to be on shorter/more local stuff as time for training is going to be less as well as less money, but Im sure ill still have fun and thats the main thing

Does anyone have any idea where the 'new' Outlaw half is going to be? Possibly somewhere South?

I'll happily chip in with newborn baby poop, There seems to be a lot of excess to get rid of!

Well it seems as per last year the gods are against me and it's a no again, with a wedding last year and a newborn this year funds are being diverted away for things like nappies!

Have got an agreement that I can enter a couple of halfs and will possibly see how quickly Mallorca sells out in a couple of months. But may have to wait for 2017 for my 1st long attempt. It better be worth it!

Cos he entered a half ironman (70.3 Staffs) a couple of weeks back, so a 10km should be a piece of pi$$

But clearly wasn't/isn't!

Well done Diggers and Razor! Maybe some better prep with the alarm clock next time Mrs D

i have have ran twice in the last 3 days, trying to get back into it all and running every other day. First run of 4 miles had an average of 11:00 minute miles, 2nd was 9:59 so an improvement. Will be out again this evening as it's sunny again! Im starting to enjoy running again!

Go Mrs D! The run will continue to come down quickly. You'll be running 6 minute miles soon

Where abouts are you Sam? Sky rides are great, I used to be a leader and we had all kinds of cyclists turn up, they are really friendly and will make sure everyone gets home safely

This years is still open so I'm guessing not very quickly. But I believe this may only be the 2nd year (?) so it may sell out quicker next year
