Thanks for the recommendation.

Surely 50 IM's in 50 days is just not possible?

17 is such an arbitrary age - why not 16 I wonder?

So at 16 (I believe) you can join the Army (with Parent's permission) and do all their assault courses, endurance marches etc. but not run a HM!

All quiet in here!

Back to work after a few days off. Rest day today, run tomorrow.

too short?

I think 200m is nothing in 10,000m. You could easily spend that drifting off the measured line, weaving around slower persons etc.

Unless you stick to the measured line (eg the blue line painted on the road for the London Marathon - but not usual practice in most races) no-one actually runs 10,000m exactly.

Could be elsewhere.

I usually leave before 6.30am and get home after 6.30pm - so twelves hours+ door to door.

Most of that is spent 'working' - even on the train. Out of the twelve I probably 'work' at least 10. I have put 'work' in inverted commas as many of those 10 hours are spent in meetings, reading emails or on conference calls etc.

I therefore often get to the end of the day and wonder what I have actually done!

First time 10k how can I get faster :)

Make sure that you are not running all your runs as fast as you can.

Try mixing slower longer runs - 10k+ (at a pace that you can still maintain a conversation) and some quicker 5k or less runs. Aim for 1 long run and 2 or 3 shorter runs in a week. Gradually increase your longer lun by no more than 10% a week.

Jenna - you've hijacked a 3 year old thread. Try starting a new one with a few more details about your current plan, how long you've run, goals etc and I'm sure someone will come along and advise.

Good luck.
