Souls like you may have shin splints?

You should get a gait analysis done and proper trainers when you can.

In use meanwhile perhaps you need to build up to distance using a run / walk combination - check out the NHS Couch 2 5k. Perhaps dropping your speed to a light jog may help too.

Morning. Just heading back from Cardiff after a dinner. Quiet day today then up early tomorrow to go and watch the Llanelli Marathon and then a run of my own after (nearer 6 miles though rather than 26!).

Have a nice weekend all and continue resting that leg NR.

Morning! Is it Llanelli Marathon Sunday Seren? Might go and watch if Oliver doesn't have rugby.

Had a nice run up the old railway line to Swiss Valley last night (basically ran the 5 part of the HBA 5-10-20) course. Much easier going up than down as even though it's an old railway line the constant incline up is greater than it first seems.

Back to the grindstone then. Glad Monday is a non running day as I'm knackered! Early night and look forward to a run tomorrow.

Thanks Lestajesta - missed your post.

I found a route in the end by following footpath signs! Lovely running in the ciuntryside not knowing where you are going.

Does he really need gels ?

I would think that for 5+ hours of exercise your body will definately need something more than water, especially if up to now it has been used to receiving energy from gels.

Breathing

Posted: 10/04/2015 at 10:18

I often notice that my breathing has become more shallow / quicker and need to 'force' myself to breath in / out deeper and longer (4 steps or so). So deep breathing doesnt't come naturally.

Also I'm naturally inclined to breathe in through my nose rather than mouth, which I again try and correct.
