Berlin Marathon

Posted: 23/09/2016 at 10:17

Hey up, probably been asked already but a few questions.  After saying I won't be doing another marathon till VMLM2018 I now fancy Berlin next year.  Got a few club mates doing it and just messaged them but for comparison: how hard to get in? Cost of race, hotel, flights etc?   Need to work out early so can discuss with t'other half and also saving up for trip.  Sorry to be nosy.

Baz, mozzy turned up to the NYD hillsborough parkrun.

No Sheffield half for me as it's too close to VMLM2016. After spending most of last year injured and getting fat I have nothing concrete racing wise bar the National xc championship in Feb, london (my last marathon, i am adamant this time after a jog around in 3.15 @ vmlm2015) April and north lincs in may. Need to decide if I'm doing a 20 mile or half as a warm up pretty soon and book it in.

North London half marathon- A must do or A must miss Race?

Being from Yorkshire I know hills. I turned up expecting a flat half being London and got a shock. On the entry fee you did get a lot for your money but being a Yorkshire man would NEVER spend 42 pound on a race. Luckily as a marathontalk prize winner it only cost me my megatrain/bus fare ??22 return) and I got the Mo Farah Q&A session too

Give up coffee? Wash your mouth out. Lol. I have 4 or 5 a day. To help try adding a good quality butter in it.

Trust your training and use your judgement. No harm in cards on race day just not gels. Soreen I find works for me.

The idea, from a fat adapted athlete, is to not cut out cars entirely. I still  eat cars that do fuel  shorter faster runs but then on longer stretches my body has no problem  moving to fay burning
