No charge for me or husband...perhaps as he'd never seen one he didn't realise he could have made himself some easy money!

Medical certificate signed today. The Dr, a runner himself, said he'd never had to sign one of those for any marathon before. Now feel very adventurous!

Sticking head in after a few weeks absence. Sounds like there's been some fantastic running going on. Well done Weedy + Emmy. Great times!

Update on me is that I've discovered xc. Nothing like running through a load of mud and rivers to make you feel awesome! Bonus is that I'll never be the fastest runner but I am fairly tough and that counts for a lot In xc. Lol. 2 races down and 2 more to go.

weedy race list...can you tag me +RunRichRun for Longridge Pudding Run 8th Dec.

ATM - wow I love the parkrun tag! Thinking ahead here but would make a fantastic stocking filler for some people.

BM not dismissing the physical aspects of post-race recovery I would suggest that there is also a psychological aspect too. Post-race (esp major ones) I certainly suffer a "flatness." Training and looking forward to/obsessing about a major goal leave a void. After a few days of general fatigue and grumpiness I usually enter something else...the more ridiculously challenging the an attempt to recreate the pre-race "high."

Often come down with a cold too...

TD- you are right of course, I'm just fighting off post-race depression at the moment. Lol. Trying not to over-analyse. Bit of distance and then review it with a sensible head.

Nutrition is one of my rave subjects and I'm the first to lecture anyone that will listen. In this case a busy Saturday, (supporting RunRichRun, dashing round with kids then a night out...when I forgot my precious oatcakes!!!) early mornings and a late-ish evening, certainly combined to teach me to practice what I preach. I usually do to be fair. Lesson learnt.

Don't worry it won't be happening to me again!!!

TD- 3rd mara (+ the wall this yr) Training was the same as the other 2 near enough. First time going out for a time and possibly went out too quickly ... or didn't have it in me yet to sustain the pace I need. Was a hot day too and despite all the water/gels they didn't do the job. Legs are still wrecked today which I don't usually suffer with.

chalk it down to a bad day. Resting this month ( may sneak a little xc in in a few wks) and getting a good solid training plan sorted for Paris.

Sub-4 or die kina underestimates my determination at moment...I'm mad!

Btw RunRichRun being very modest about his performance at Rivington yesterday. 19th out around 350 runners..and that's why he's in bleu pen and I'm in vert!
