Birmingham and Black Country Half-Marathon

Posted: 23/06/2014 at 21:49

Richard it's supposed to be a staggered start so I'm guessing the 9 o'clock on the confirmation email is just a generic time for everyone. I don't know how staggered, don't want to be hanging around for hours in Wolverhampton.

Thanks Dizzy, it's very frustrating I have to organise child care and I don't know my start time so can't estimate my finish so it's rather tricky!!! 3 days before is a bit late. Oh well

You guys are really working me now, I've had no communication from the organiser. i understood the packs etc would be coming out soon, I guess no one has one yet? what is also worrying is that neither I nor my brother in law are on that list of entrants despite having an email confirmation from runners world. What's going on????

Oh Lordy!!!!  Had to dash off and referee so no time to proof read.

my two hours was actually wonderful I sat on my bed and had a coffee, read my runners world and got all inspired for trotting. Am planning to work on my 10k spread once I get this blasted half out the way. Am so beer ours about this half, it's in a MONTH and I'm feeling like I'm going backwards. Oh well, hopefully it'll come together on the day. Otherwise it'll just be a nice stroll along the canal.

Welcome Mr F, I'm pleased you're on the road to recovery. Slow and steady wins the race!

Podds your efforts leave me speechless!

Ellie, I know the feeling. This week we have been using our willies and puddle suits, my two are boys so love a bit Of muck, mud and messy stuff. Basically we go to the local park/nature reserve/ woodland and they are allowed to get as dirty and disgusting as they like. The proviso is that they have to get in bath bath as soon as we get home. They just love it. We were at the lake yesterday for 3 hours in the drizzle and they had a fabbo time! my two are just 2 and nearly 4 and it's blooming hard work.  I thought as a primary teacher I'd breeze motherhood but honestly there are days when I feel like I'm sinking. Today isn't one of them though, I did enjoy my time off and it seems the smallest has also had a good morning. he is currently in the garden playing lord knows what with his bro while I try and ready the house for the mother in law tomorrow.

I am running tonight. I AM! There isn't a single fibre of my being that wants to go but I'm going to. I know I'll feel better when I've gone, I just need to get over the hurdle of actually going.

coco I'm so pleased the move has worked out and after all the uncertainty you are feeling settled and happy.

smallest is doing a settling in morning at nursery today which means I am all by myself for 2 hours. It's weird!!!!! I had planned a run but now I'm feeling a bit sad and lonely. Have been craving a bit of peace and quiet but the house is too strange without them. Too quite, too still, bizarre. Am having a coffee morning; reading my mag and drinking HOT coffee. It's nice, but strange.

Haven't caught up on your goings on, I'm sorry for the self indulgent post. Just feeling bit teary and husband would tell me that I'm nuts

Well, back from chubby world and I managed to gain an impressive 2 pounds down in the West Country. I'm actually not unhappy with that when you consider the pasty/clotted cream/cheese board/ice cream shenanigans.

Feeling very stiff after my 6 miles yesterday so just a bit of strolling around with the monsters. Planning 4 tomorrow.

Snaily I hate DIY, I get totally over enthusiastic at the start, get about half way through and lose the will to live! We have been living in a half finished bedroom for over 2 months now with our whole wardrobe on the spare bed because I haven't quite finished the project (it's only painting).

I think you're all doing fabulous out and abouting!

Oh that's perfect Yums, thank you so much.

i have just about managed to catch up. Have to say congratulations to the tri types for their amazing efforts at Stratford (and equally amazing race reports) a huge congrats to the Windermere marathon types, although you have made me think - ooooh that sounds like a lovely Event... Maybe I'll give it a try... Maybe not!

Im bound to miss out everyone so I'm not going to attempt to comment, I apologise for that. I want to offer tea and sympathy to those who need it, a glass of wine to others and a hearty pat on the back for everyone else.

we had an amazing week down in Cornwall, I did some really really beautiful run routes and it has motivated and inspired me to get back into my regular trotting. Went out today for 6 miles which were super super hard work but heyho it's done. Chubby club tomorrow so we shall see what the Cornish cream teas have done to my ever expanding waist!

Hello! Remember me??? Last time I posted my lovely mother in law was here. we had a good weekend with her but I got the lurgy and was completely floored by I; spent all day Saturday in bed!! The following weekend we went to Cornwall for a week and have just arrived back.  I have been doing some running, having done absolutely nothing while I had my germs but I haven't been keeping up with you guys. I apologise.

Hope everyone is OK and I promise to catch up soon... unless some kind sole wants to do me a quick summary
