Lovely race, that hill is not for the faint-hearted!

Brooks Adrenaline - dramatic changes?

The Vapor 11 is essentially a GTS 12 but with a different name, great shoe.

Adidas Adizero Tempo's

Bostons will be getting Boost technology in September so will be a very different shoe. Adios is being discontinued from July, but the Adios Boost will continue. I'm racing and doing speedwork in Adios Boost, fantastic shoe, decent amount of cushioning for such a lightweight shoe

adidas MD 2 or avanti 2 for track training sessions?

Avanti have far more cushioning, best spike I've ever worn

Gait analysis, as waste of time?

Posted: 19/12/2013 at 14:00

I've had numerous shoes that fit well and feel comfy, yet have given me problems. I've done numerous assessments to ensure my running form is as good as it can be, yet I've still had problems. I've had less problems when getting shoes after gait analysis.

Gait analysis is not totally accurate but I do feel it can be a useful guide, so get frustrated when people make such sweeping generalisations that it's a con.

Gait analysis, as waste of time?

I'm not saying it's the be-all and end-all, but what is a better way of getting the correct shoes then?

Non league xc races in the midlands

Could try the Gloucestershire X-Country league (www.glosaaa.org.uk), quite a few Warwickshire clubs take part. First fixture was on Saturday but there are 3 more at Cheltenham, Malvern and Gloucester. Unattached or non-member club runners can run, only a couple of quid per race.

Adidas Boost Trainers, anyone had a run in a pair yet?

Posted: 23/04/2013 at 10:09

As far as I know, the sponsored athletes have got them now but shops won't get them until July/August time. They were launched at London Expo and were available for purchase (£110), friend of mine bought a pair.

Adidas Boost Trainers, anyone had a run in a pair yet?

Got to be one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and I've tried a fair few (I own a running shop!). There does seem to be quite a bit of confusion though in terms of the different models of Boost. There is the Energy Boost at £110 and the Adistar Boost at £120.

The Adistar boost has more of the Boost cushioning, Continental rubber on the outsole and a Formotion unit on the heel, so much more than £10 worth of difference in technical features. Only available in specialist running stores, whereas the Energy Boost is available in JD Sports (and other shops). Should give you an idea of the two different markets they are aiming at. Have heard that the sizing on the Energy Boost is quite far out, whereas the Adistar Boost is the normal 1/2 size compared to other brands.
