I don't know how I'm going to make it round a marathon, never mind Comrades and you all seem to have done/be about to do rather long races.

Hope its not catching

Lowrez - I'm amazed you can do as much after 2 months. Are you training for something else. 20 miles is a long way if not

At the moment I can't imagine running a marathon, never mind more. And all those hills and heat.

Justanothrrnr - Have a fab holiday and relax. I'm sure the love will be back afterwards

Shopping when hungry is definitely not good

But all things are relative and 110g is still less than most people. Don't beat yourself up

I went for a long run this morning but as I wanted to put a bit of effort in I had some sweet potato for yesterday evening and a bit more for breakfast. Though still very warm I achieved what I wanted. I never take any water so was fairly thirsty when I got home. All good now though

IL - interesting that you're sticking to the 50g and not lower. The endurance side is obviously coming along great. Whens your ultra? Whats your feeding strategy for it?

Cunning Fox - In this country as far as I'm aware we already use the net carb amounts on labels so there's nothing to deduct. Your carb counts are still low but maybe they're net carbs not total

Hi Cunning Fox - Well done on weight loss

As Lee says, Duda is a guru

I have been trying to be more conscious about adding salt (hopefully not to the detriment of the non lchf people I'm cooking for!) I have just done a fasted 8 miler with non of last weeks issues. Still slow, still slightly high heart rate for the speed but, boy is it warm. The question of being able to tell if your fat burning baffles me also. I know you need to be in ketosis to burn ketones but is that actually the same as fat burning. Low carb could really mean anything below 100 net gr but that's clearly nowhere near ketosis.

I ask as I'm not really sure what I'm aiming for. I don't want to lose weight but I want to burn fat and sustain myself without too much food during an ultra

Suckitup - I'll look up the salt tabs. Well done on your weight loss. That's great

Hi Duda - Thanks for that. Although I cook with more salt than I used too I generally forget about it as I'm so used to not using it. It helped when I first started in a glass of water for the headaches. And thinking about it, yesterdays food had no salt put on at all. Funnily enough I've just loaded my scrambled egg with it. When I came home from the run, I was craving something and yet I knew it wasn't carbs or sugar. Just didn't know what it was. Thanks again. It's obviously better to have too much salt than too little.
