I have been trying to be more conscious about adding salt (hopefully not to the detriment of the non lchf people I'm cooking for!) I have just done a fasted 8 miler with non of last weeks issues. Still slow, still slightly high heart rate for the speed but, boy is it warm. The question of being able to tell if your fat burning baffles me also. I know you need to be in ketosis to burn ketones but is that actually the same as fat burning. Low carb could really mean anything below 100 net gr but that's clearly nowhere near ketosis.
I ask as I'm not really sure what I'm aiming for. I don't want to lose weight but I want to burn fat and sustain myself without too much food during an ultra
