2 or 3 sips of water/energy drinks during the race is all that is needed. You will never get dehydrated in 13 miles unless it's like 35 degrees.

Guys don't forget the importance of ones diet. It's a simple equation. Calories in must be less than calories burnt for weight loss (fat loss) to happen. Fat loss is 85% diet, 15% exercise. You see these fat guys at gyms all the time,  who think because they go to gym for an hour they can eat and drink what they like. But yet can't understand why they still obese. Must be my metabolism/genes. Yeah right !!

Granola is very high in fat and sugar. You better off increasing the porridge and dropping the gronola.  Check the lable out and see what it says. Usually the very cheap gronalas the the healthest.

if you want to run faster run more (without getting injured).

You won't find Mo or the Kenyan's cycling.
