          LOGGERHEADS TRAIL 5/10K 2014 – RACE DAY INFORMATION, 5/4/2014Dear Runner/sThank you for your entry, for the first Loggerheads Trail event. Whether you are doing the 5k or 10k, I hope that you will enjoy the varied, scenic routes and that you have a great run.REGISTRATION:All participants – pre entrants and on-day entrants are to pick their number up on the day.Registration for BOTH races will open at 8.30am and will close at 10.15am prompt. This will take place at the visitor centre itself and directional arrows will help you find the registration area.Your race number is adhesive but safety pins will also be provided for you. PLEASE NOTE: On-day entry is welcomed at this event, however: Race t-shirts have already been allocated to all pre entrants. The remaining t-shirts will be handed out on a first come-first served basis based at registration. If the amount of participants exceeds expectations, then it may be the case that some entering on the day may not get a race t-shirt.ROUTE:You will be running through an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - taking in riverside paths, woodland tracks and a bit of country lane. Please stick to the route as directed by the markers and marshals, the environment, whilst beautiful, is also vulnerable and the route, when finalised will help you enjoy this area whilst keeping damage to a minimum. LOCATION:The event is centred on Loggerheads Visitor Centre ,Loggerheads Country Park, Ruthin Road, Mold...where registration takes place, toilets and refreshments are to be found – it is also the start/finish point of the races. The postcode for Sat Navvies is CH7 5LH. The park is located on the Ruthin to Mold road (A494) - opposite the 'We Three Loggerheads' public house beside the main road. PARKING:Can I ask that participants utilise the Parking area in the Colomendy Outdoor Education Centre opposite the Country Park. Arrows will guide you to the parking area and on a short walk from the parking area to registration and the start. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHEN CROSSING THE ROAD!Please consider car sharing wherever possible to limit congestion in and around the race venue on the day and please park responsibly. It is advisable to arrive early. 8.30am – REGISTRATION OPENS10.15am – REGISTRATION CLOSES10.30am – 10k RACE START!10.35am - 5k RACE START!12pm approx. - PRIZEGIVING AND CLOSE

Totally agree about the litter...no need

Had a great run...went off course early on though, was expecting a checkpoint at a 4way junction and it wasn't there, was in the mist so ended up doing an extra 3 miles!! BUT that was my fault, live and learn...It also happened to be the only bit I didnt recce...dohhh.

Overall it was a great day out and a lovely place to run, great people, great marshalls,

Please please please let us know asap about a 2013 race..I am so looking forward to having another crack at this..

Getting close now...

Is there a list of essential kit we need to carry. Will be carrying a lightweight version of the kit I normally carry in the mountains anyway (map, compass, waterproof, etc) but wondered if there was anything specific or compulsary ?

Had a few hours run round the Moel y Parc area yesterday..tough but such good running...love it

Also if you get found out (i.e. you need id at registration) you will both get banned for life...it has happened.
