Sandstone Trail Challenge (33miles)

Posted: 06/06/2014 at 15:00

Big containers and plastic cups normally. Take your own bottle if you want drinks imbetween.

Watch out for the little yellow ST disc signs, there's plenty of them.

One more gotcha... About 2 miles from the end there's a Sandstone Trail sign pointing you across the golf course to the *old* finish at the top of Beacon Hill. Ignore it and contour L along the sandy obvious footpath towards Frodsham. It'll be well marked but just in case anyone's meddled with the signs.

Smile for the cameras please. And take a coat. Enjoy!

Over thinking running

Interesting debate. Whilst we've never had so much data, sports science, advice, nutritional knowledge, etc, as a population we're all getting slower

Just read the full expo on the other channel. Few more laps of Frodsham Hill and it'll go. I think a small number of people on call that can step in at shortish notice is a great plan. Long day in the hills and you've learned a bit ...feel good about yourself!

What shoes did you go with?

runkeeper inaccurate data or not?

Runs are far more accurate now from a watch then when I used to use a Smartphone. I too have a truly impressive mile PB  from those days

Nutrition - jump starting the fat burning

Useful read that, I was thinking specifically about the not eating in the early part of the run thing, to jumpstart the mechanism? I do train fasted, but that's a slightly different thing I think. Anyways

Oh, good work, that's my 3 Peaks CX rep on the bike - carry up there along the top down to Middle walk, anticlockwise back to the bottom. I don't do 12...

Running I tend to do Bellemonte entrance up to monument, just because it's quicker.

Good luck
