Croxteth park 10k 2011

Yep....two of us will be there. As well as great surroundings.....believe it or not....a 10k speed run is a good way for us to prepare for the London Marathon the week after. Builds the stamina and keeps intensity in the old legs. See you there

Twin Piers Half Marathon

Posted: 14/03/2011 at 15:42

Hi Crazytown...there were around 230 of us that finished...so....there was a greater scope in the finishing times (more time between finishers). It was quite fast....seeing runners coming back down the road whilst the rest of us were still going up it was great. It is not every course where you get to see the faster runners during the race

Yep....guess we ran past the same St Annes pier twice...so it kind of counted as two piers. Nice to run around the windmill instead and against the wind most of the way. Reckon it must have been an accurate measure as the turnaround point was a marshall with 3 traffic cones around his car. Very well organised.....thank you folks

Bath Half Marathon

Posted: 06/03/2011 at 21:25
Hi Folks. Have got to say, that was one well organised race. From the easy car parking (in the city centre), the fantastic village with pre-race massage, the build up stood at the start line, the great supporters all the way around, the 2 circuits (so you know what to expect second time around) the big finish and the speed they got us all through at the end were all best practices that some other races should follow. The journey out of Bath and back to Southport was easy too. The only small niggle would be around the quality of the medal. Maybe they could have a look at the Birmingham half marathon version...now that feels like a medal. Well done to everyone involved

Fantastic....thank you Brian and those who out the event on. Seats, massages, lots of future race flyers, a great atmosphere and even a choice of a Mars bar or Wagon Wheel at the end....just fabby
