Thames Meander Half Marathon (Sat 1st Nov)

Posted: 29/10/2014 at 15:46

This will be my first full marathon since my injury back in Aug 2013. I am a little bit nervous.

Two weeks ago I ran the very hilly JogShop 20 miles. After that event, I decide it is now time to run a marathon again. Just going to take my time and enjoy the day.

Can anybody confirm should I wear trail or road trainers for this event.

Croydon Ultra 30M

Posted: 07/07/2013 at 18:36

Hello everybody, I ran the Croydon Ultra todayand it was blooming hot ( 30degc) which made it a bit of a challenge especially this was my first Ultra distance. I really enjoyed the course which include the very pretty undiluted Vangard Way and the route 21 cycle path toward Beckenham and Ladywell. All the check point had plenty of water and food so you can fuel up. After the race there is an option to recover by making use of the shower facilites and treat yourself to a beer at the club house and bliss that cool pint of fosters went down a treat, it was well deserved.  Just want to say thank you to Ian for organising this and to all the volunteers who help out today. As I mentioned before running in this heat was very challenging but this has not put me off in taking part again next year. This was my first ultra marathon and what a way to start.

I enjoyed watching you guys running on Sunday, I was helping out at the 25 miles point. Not ran the London Marathon since 2010 I will try my luck for the 2014 ballot place.

For some of you marathon addicts, you may want to try the North Kent road runners marathon which takes place on Saturday 1st Jun, you should have recovered by then and  If you are chasing for Good For Age time place for the London Marathon 2014 this will be your last chance before the July deadline.

@John McArther 4. Well said and good luck for Sunday. I am one of the volunteer helping out, will be located near Embankment. As I did not get a place, I thought why not help out instead.

@Charles R ,you can go and f+ck yourself for putting remarks like that. I did not want to get out of race. I had a head injury which gave me no choice but NOT run this race, this would have been my third marathon alone this year, so why the hell would I want to get out of this race.

Charles, I suggest you grow up you prick.
