Time for a new bike

Posted: 06/12/2014 at 09:57
Thanks for your but one of the problems with my existing bike is that it's too small. Has Toby extra long seat post to get the saddle high enough and the handlebars are still too low.
Going to head to all the local bike shops today in the hope I have a few more choices but one the problems of living in West Wales is that I don't feel I have the best shops about - I should really travel further but then if there is a problem I have to travel again so I would prefer to buy local if I can

I was just hoping some others had similar problems and could advise me from experience.

Time for a new bike

Finally I am buying a new bike but as it is under the cycle to work scheme I am limited to £1000. This already limits my options but at 6 foot 4 I am struggling to find frames in my size to actually sit on them To try them for size and in fact have only found one locally that seems to fit and I was able to try. It was a 2015 Giant Defy 1.

My question is does anyone know of alternatives for £1000 or under where they make a frame for someone tall with long legs ?

although I am sure a bike fit would be very useful if my only option is the Giant then it might be throwing away money that could be used for something else?

Thanks in advance for any help / advice.

I would be interested but could not say for definite until I get my shift pattern. I would vote for Cardiff as Newport is awful ! (I used to live there)

Fink Plan for half ironman

I have the Don Fink book for the full distance and wondered if the plan for the half was much different - I assume for the build and peak phases the times are different for the half than the full but is there much different apart from this.

Is it worth getting the book for the half or is it as simple to adapt the plan for the full and if it is easy to adapt what changes would you make ?

I am entered for a half in 2015 (Bala Middle Distance in June) with the plan to step up to full in 2016.

I am also more than happy to donate £5 and also think both Lanza and Wales in 2016 for the PSOF champs - some people might want to do one but some might even want to race and / or support at both. enough time between them for some people to consider both ?

P.S. I am back in training so watch out on Welsh roads for the foreseeable future !

P.P.S on iPad so don't want to mess up the list so if someone can add me it would be appreciated.
