Running comeback

hurt my lower back 2 years ago doing boot camp, have had a reoccurance for last 4 months , didnt do anything to start it  off , worst is at night as pain if i turn in bed is off the scale , dont want to keep taking pain killers, physio hasnt helped , am now at a loss what to do , has knocked my confidence running wise and mo jo whats that? used to use running as me time but cant now run a mile without having to walk so now find excuses not to go out.

don,t run through pain, if its a tight piriformis and glutes u need to do stretches and cross train till physio says its ok to run again, swimming and cycling are the best, and build it up again. foam rolling is good for piriformis but i still havent got the hang of it properley, the yoga pose the pigeon is also best stretch ever, look it up and give it a go.

hi, thanks guys for info, unfortunately i have a 10k in 2 weeks , although wont be old speed more a run with some walking to support a friend , once thats out of the way can get sorted properly.

advice please, have come back to running after a year of injury to find i am struggling to run, have a niggle that really hurts at top of leg where it joins groin, its like it twangs when i run after 2 or 3 miles it seems to settle but still hurts, could it be a tear ? and how can i get rid so i can run without pain, incidentally it also does it day to day when i am at work and home, causes me to hobble some days.

hi still on the end of nasty bout on my hip, havent run properly since last year, have had steroid injection this week and fingers crossed seems to have helped, managed 4 mile bike ride and run/walk couple of miles. going to try the empsom salts.

had this afew years ago , went away eventually but i did change my shoes, recommend brookes adrenalines , best shoes ever . this said i still need orthotics cos of my pronation but the combo works. when i get a twinge i know shoes and orthotics are due a change. i also found a small bottle of water frozen in the freezer and used as a roller under my foot 2 or 3 times a day helps to stretch the tendon. good luck and hope you get sorted.

hi all. other half Dave may not be running now due to stupid dog owner and large alsation that lunged at him and we think hamstring is well and truly knackered. Still bit confused as to what group i need to stagger towards.
