Morning all

Well 10 miles for me yesterday well pleased with the time as it’s the first time I’ve been under the 9 minute mark on all sections of the apart  from the 2 uphill bits Avg pace was  8:45m/m had a couple of rest day’s this week and haven’t done the Will fit exercises at all

oh what bliss today after 2.5 weeks they finally finished hacking of all the pebbledash  so after having to get up at 8am as that’s when they’ve been starting had a lovely lie in this morning

Swervin I'm also looking for a 3:30:00 this year i ran 3:37:09 in 2013 but this year opted to run with Snowmaiden so would really like to have a pop at it but will have to see how confident Snowmaiden is about running on her own although having said that it may be good practice for to run on her own at Brighton as she's going to have to do at London as i never got though the ballot again maybe we can team up at Brighton and run together and d if you find I’m slowing you down you can always go on

Morning all

well got out for my long run yesterday slightly slower than last week but the weather was wet and i never seem to run as well when I'm all dressed up in wet weather running gear one good thing about doing the long run on a Monday it gets it out of the way so if i have a hard week at work at least i don't have to face going out on a Friday and doing it

Yvonne congratulation glad to read Mother and baby are doing well

Lynneem first welcome to the thread well done on entering your first H/M it as for advice you have plenty of time to build up your mileage slowly over the coming months by about the end of April you need to have done at least 13 mile just to see how it feels as it’s your first H/M it also may be worth just going out to enjoy it and not worry about a time there always the next one for that

Look yourself out a training plan there are loads out there try to find one that fits in with your life as it does make them easier to follow but remember these things aren’t set in stone so if you have to juggle it about then juggle it about

if you know the course is hilly then try fitting in plenty of hills into your training routes when i train for a H/M i tend to do 2x5 miles and 6 in the week and anything from 7 to 11 as a long run but your training plan will have all that on it any way

good luck with the training stay in touch and let us know how your getting on

Swervin well done on the PB I've never got under the 7minute mark mines always around the 7:56 area

Marshy2 no that pace is fine if you find it easy however when the longer run's kick in they do say they should be done at about a minute slow than you want your race pace to be how ever having said that it's something I've never done deliberately i always seem to train at a slower pace than i run at when i race

Morning all

Well did the 10 with Snowmaiden on Friday took us 1:46:00 which isn’t too bad considering that’s the first time we done that sort of distance together since June her training was going well until her hours at work increased and she had a had a fall while we were out running that put her out for a couple of weeks and a couple of bouts of the flu that have got down on her chest that have also put her out of action for a couple of weeks

Were hoping now that we’ll be able to get to it now she also has London              to train for  i may try another long run tomorrow but we’ll have to see whether the feeling takes me or nor or it may just be the a 15 or the bare 10 I’ve set myself for a Monday
