We used to do a sort of relay session, can't remember what it was called. Basically teams of 2. Runner 1 starts at start line and runs 200m, hands over to runner 2 then jogs across centre of track to original their start position where he takes over again, Runner 2 crosses back to 200m mark to take over again. After x no of 200m reps the teams could opt to do 400 reps or stick with 200s, or mix it up. x mins before the end of the session whistle blows and whichever team member is running at the time then has to continue running till the end of the session.
Winner was the team which completed the most laps.
We were also a very mixed ability group but everyone used to enjoy it
