Which runs have pacers - how to find someone to pace you

Posted: 09/04/2014 at 17:18

Yes, some of the bigger Halfs do have pacers. Think there used to be a list of which events had RW pacers on this site somewhere but if may have got lost/binned in a site upgrade.

If you've got a particular event in mind, check the race website; I'd guess if pacers are provided it would be included in the race details.

Otherwise, do you run with a club or friends? If so pair up with someone who can pace you/do the maths for you.

Print out a pace band with required mile split times so you just have to compare what it says on the band to what it says on your watch.

More expensive option, get a gps watch with a virtual pacer which will tell you if you're ahead or behind schedule.

Good luck

Took my newly mended calf out for a little run this morning which went well.

Got home and jumped in the shower to discover the hard way that my boiler has packed up.  Attempts to relight it have failed; the pilot light wont stay lit.

Thank goodness for the immersion heater.

Trogs, the leaderboard thing shows up at the bottom of the app on my phone if that helps much?!!

Ah, don't use the app so maybe it's one of those features that doesn't feature on the web version.

I need a little assistance please!

Could it be that the medics are disregarding Wilkie's level of fitness and therefore dismissing the high resting HR because it falls within the 'normal' range for the general population?

Best wishes to Wilkie.

Not the best day to be out on the bike for an essentially fair weather cyclist but the wind and weather were not quite as bad as I'd feared. Only 54+ miles but opted for the (heavier) tricross bike in view of the conditions so optimistically hope that's equivalent to a few more miles in better conditions on the road bike
