Ch'Triman V IM Switzerland

Posted: 27/04/2015 at 18:28

However, unlike IM France, I believe the Ch'Tri bike route is fairly flat but exposed and potentially windy.  Haven't done it but I think the IMCH bike route includes a couple of climbs.

As for the swim, if French rowing lakes are anything like English ones, Lake Zurich would be more pleasant experience.

I think FB and Petal have done one of the Ch'tri events so may be able to provide an accurate comparison.

Well, hats off to her, she finished in 07:07:03

Looks like she ran the first 10k then tottered the rest. Makes me wince just thinking about what state her feet must be in

I've done a couple of short OW sessions. Warm enough that fingers and toes didn't go numb but a little too chilly to do more than 30-40 mins.

However, this weekend has been a mojo free zone. Watching tri on the red button trying to psyche myself into going for a little run at least.

Last throw of the dice!!

Looks like someone else in the same boat is thinking of doing this instead

Hi Rick

Bike course is probably best described as undulating with one 'major' climb, Oxton bank at about 20 miles. However, even for a crap climber like me, it's not that bad.  Parts of the course are fairly exposed which can be a challenge if it's windy.

Feed stations/toilets are at 21 and 38 miles

Tracking runners during marathons

Posted: 22/04/2015 at 20:01

I'm fairly certain that at London you can track people via their timing chips although these only update when the runner crosses the timing mats which I think are every 5 or 10k.

A system using mobile phones would possibly work at smaller events but at major event is likely to run into network overload and blocked signal problems.
