Spent most the day setting up stuff for Tempest/Spitfire tomorrow and felt a bit weary by the time I got home so almost didn't go for my run but, as I'm likely to feel even more weary post event tomorrow, I forced my self out the door.

Only 3.6 miles, first 2 gently uphill remainder down. Can't remember when my calf felt so free either during or post run.

This morning my calf was poked, prodded, zapped with ultrasound, stabbed with accupuncture needles and is now strapped with kinesiology tape.

Ached a bit (in a good way) immediately post treatment but starting to feel wonderfully free and relaxed now.  Advised not to stress it for 24hrs so looking forward to trying a gentle test run tomorrow afternoon.

Trogs that's definitely a statement of intent.

FWIW Austria took roughly 12 hours to sell out last year (although by all accounts that is unusual).  Very much looking forward to the recce this year

Eh? I think not, just a friendly heads up for those hoping to sail next year.  Your calling this year a recce much more indicative of intent

I don't own a TT bike

Tempting though it may be to take the Tricross with it's triple but I suspect it'll be road bike for me too

Set a new pb on my regular commute route this morning, without really trying.
Either I'm starting to feel the benefits of training, or today was just a good day

Ironman Austria 2014

They've been quite specific hints; for race day - no wind, a little light cloud cover, temp low 20s, low humidity; in the run-up - rain & low temps for a couple of weeks prior to 23/6 to keep water temps down, then warming up gradually in the final week.

Hope that suits everyone

I've dropped a few hints re the weather Happychap but nothing formal yet.

Welcome ChaneyBee. It'll be great

Training is starting to get serious, which is a novelty for me! Will be better when I get rid of an annoyingly persistent calf niggle and can start running properly again.
